not worthy for a reply...Just curious and out of curiosity now if something goes wrong like the metro....Will he blame others or himself? Just want it in written....Although I wish success coz I am all for power projects but just curious as we already saw the quick blame game on metro.....
When people try to take credit for success their face should also be strong enough to take lanat if it screws up!
The plant should be supplied RLNG as soon as possible. But now that seems far unless an all new pipeline would be required between Lahore and Karachi, thanks to shyt network of SNGPKhuwaja Asif posted further details about the plant on his page. Read this whole thing, it talks about fuel, price per unit etc. Lots of information.
MAKING IMPOSSIBLE THE POSSIBLE, CONVERTING A DREAM INTO REALITY!
425 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project, Nandipur, comprising of three Gas Turbines and a Steam Turbine, has successfully achieved its contractual output value of 425 MW and is currently fully operational. All the machines are being operated on HSFO (High Sulfur Furnace Oil) in a combined cycle mode.
The project which commenced in 2008, and remained suspended for almost three years during PPP's previous government and in spite of all the escalation and additional costs in the form of duties and taxes , is going to be completed in its Revised PC-I (approved by ECNEC in July 2013) cost of Rs. 58,416 Million. Though the project was not fully functional but still continued to provide Electricity Power into the National Grid for the last one year with cumulative value of 257.4 Million kwh units till June 2015. Moreover, NEPRA in its tariff determination has approved a levelized tariff, for 30 years, for 425 MW, CCPP, Nandipur @ Rs. 11.3073.
The Power Plant will remain under trial run for the next 2-3 weeks undergoing various commissioning tests and to trouble shoot the faults, if any, arise during the testing phase. The Power from the system is being evacuated in a smooth manner and there is no problem with the transmission system.
The completion of 425 MW Nandipur Power Project was a huge colossal task to be done but under the able guidance and extra ordinary support of Hon’ble Chief Minister (Punjab) the project has been made functional within least possible time and approved cost.
But if there is no pipe line , it can be transported by trucking just as LPG is done . it would increase per kg cost of of transportation ut it can solve the purpose .The plant should be supplied RLNG as soon as possible. Truck carrying capacity is very limited plus the transportation cost turns very high. The demand of a power plant to operate 24/7 is about 100 million cubic feet of LNG per day. A truck can carry upto 500 thousand cubic feet. This means that to keep nandipur operational for a single day, about 200 trucks would be needed, which is economically very expensive. Railways can be a more economical stopgap but they don't have the LNG carrying vessels with them I think.But if there is no pipe line , it can be transported by trucking just as LPG is done . it would increase per kg cost of of transportation ut it can solve the purpose .
It wont SOLVE the problem, it may help a bit but not solve. If pipe line is not feasible anymore or current network cannot be utilized, IF, then we need to work on transportation by rail.
