Pakistan does not have enough assembly facilities to assemble its own requirements of JF-17 and ordered 110 from China. We can assemble only 15 a year how can we fulfill Sri Lankan order and also replace our obsolete fighters ?

Same confusion here

I think if its Sri Lanka, the jet will most likely be built in China. Pakistan Aeronautical Complex cant cope with export order if the quoted annual production number is the measure to go by.

The eagerness to export JF-17 that are desperately needed by the PAF may have another reason: illegal commissions that the defense contracts comes with. The PAF purchase for badly needed F-16s from US also involved corruption and commissions by the senior officials. Now again may be the illegal commission and corruption comes before national interests.

Incorrect. The Pakistani authorities have gone on the record multiple times stating that "PAC has the capacity to build 25 birds every year". Right now we are building 15 per year due to our own financial constraints and not PAC's build capacity constraints. So we can easily produce 10 more aircraft per year right away given the finances are available which means that given an export order we can increase the production to the full 25 birds per year of which 15 would be for PAF and the remaining 10 for the customer. It's really very simple. No need for conspiracy theories.

We didn't "make" Mashaq and Super Mashaq... We assembled them using Swedish kits!

Incorrect. We produced the Mashaq under license while the Super Mashaq is an indigenous iteration over the Mashaq of which we hold full rights. Hence the exports to Saudia, Iraq, etc. of the Super Mashaq by Pakistan.

England's perspective: Buy the jets and lose the 7 millions pound Aid which is a joke but they don't want Argentina to have decent air force.

Support your argument with substance or better keep a silence

We should we keep quiet ? If there is corrupution by the military it should be acceptable ?

Then why did Pakistan order 110 JF-17 from China instead to increasing production from 15 to 25 a year ?

That's why I said Sri Lanka, not weird Myanmar :yahoo:

We didn't. Those were nonsensical reports by our not so competent media. We've been hearing about 50 Jf-17s, 110 JF-17s, etc., etc. to be delivered from China for years. Those were miss-reports of the regular orders that PAF had made. All the orders for PAF are made to the PAC/CAC partnership (its a joint venture remember?) which then manufacture their respective share of parts and ship them all to Kamra where the birds are then assembled. China has no assembly/manufacturing line for the JF-17, the sole assembly/manufacturing line exists at Kamra and any orders for the foreseeable future will be catered to by Kamra. You can't start mass-producing a military air plane just like that.

Hi,

If you remember after OBL drama, the same notice was issued by PAF stating that China will immediately provide delivery of no less 50 jets. Why do you think they chose to time it only after such incident ?

It doesn't mean that they can't produce enough units (PAC), its just that they want to equip all Sqd asap or perhaps give the message across border that by ordering from China they can quickly equip the squadron.

I think we should wait until the final confirmation but it has to be either SL or Myanmar

Hope this is true. It would be weird if it was us as we passed on both the J-10 and JF-17 the last time round.

@dragunov87 Do you have a concrete source it was us. You're usually very accurate.
