Myanmar to Buy Some 60 Russian BMP-3 Infantry Fighting Vehicles

Russian company Tractor Plants received requests for the acquisition of the BMP-3 model from Myanmar and Morocco, according to the company's spokesperson.

NIZHNY TAGIL (Sputnik) – Morocco and Myanmar will purchase approximately 60 BMP-3 amphibious infantry fighting vehicles from Russia, the model's manufacturer announced Friday.

"As of today, we have received requests for the acquisition of the BMP-3 [model] from Myanmar and Morocco… I cannot disclose the exact amount, but we are talking about somewhere in the region of two battalions," a representative of the Russian company Tractor Plants told RIA Novosti.

The anti-infantry vehicles are manufactured by the Kurganmashzavod company, part of the Tractor Plants machine-building consortium.
The Tractor Plants spokesperson said talks on the purchase of the BMP-3 had not formally commenced but noted that Myanmar had also expressed interest in the BMP-3F version, which has been modified for seaworthiness and buoyancy.

Tractor Plants is one of the many domestic and foreign companies exhibiting at the 10th annual Russia Arms Expo RAE-2015 international arms show, underway in the city of Nizhny Tagil.

Burma should replace all of its Chinese equipment with Russian and Western ones.

RPG-27 can take out M1A2 tanks, completely blow up the T-72's. It is the most deadly RPG out there and thus US suggested Iraq to not buy it as it could destroy their M1A2 tanks if they fell in the wrong hands.

my friend i think you imaging iraq, syriea type close urban warefare "where tank or apc passing road and you pop up from building and shot your rpg-27 and that tank blewup"...................

my friend mayanmar and india both have equipment and men power advantages. now mayanmar and bangladesh both have similar weapons but for the aqueation of BMP-3 mayanmar army have an edge over bangladesh army.

mayanmar will operat there tank, btr-3 and BMP-3 against our tank and btr-80....................

that does mean rpg-27 is only option............? (we don,t have any rpg-27, we have metis-m and kornet misssile which can be counter by SOTORA system)
i think we should not depend on only one weapons or idea...............

Why drag India unnecessarily in this matter,it's between you and Myanmar,India has nothing to do with it nor we ae planning any invasion of BD in the near future!!Plus,don't write the name of a sovereign country in small letters,it's a way of showing disrespect to that particular country!!
