Bahawalpur city is one of the cleanest in Pakistan. I went Gujranwala once and that place is a dump. Lahore is also disgusting.

No doubt Islamabad is the best planned and well maintained city in Pakistan. In fact it's one of the best in the world. There is a reason why it's the second most beautiful capital of the world.

Then you have seen really backward ones where N league didn't do any development work.
So drainage was there but clogged. Even roads were there but broken. I belong to rural Sindh and I visited mostly Serghoda, Khanewal, Mianwali regions..

But it depends on locals and many other factors as well that how are the conditions.

South Punjab has the richest soil in all of Punjab. Mitti’cho khushbo aundi’aa. It’s the only soil I’ve smelt on earth that has a fragrance. The only problem is that we lack water because of those bharatoads blocking sutlej river.

We are counting on our mard e momin Mujahid Pakistan Army to get the water released from the Indians. We’ve been waiting over 50 years already so any day now.
This is why we need a couple of canals in Northern Punjab. With all the investments being made in dams in Northern Pakistan, we need a canal from the Indus River all the way across to Lahore and then one back again the other way just south, so that flood water or excess water in one area can flow across to the other of the five rivers of Punjab, and us in the east aren’t dependent on just water coming in from India. We on our part should manage how much water is used with maximal use of drip irrigation so enough or more then enough help water continues to flow south to Sindh and our brothers on the farms and the cities there have enough water as well.

At least they keep you alert for chor.

My cousin(Different cousin) is just 24 years old and is deathly afraid of khukhars. He can walk up to a bully kutta without fear but khukhars make him nearly start crying.

When he was 6 or 7 years old his mother told him to get eggs from kuda for breakfast. He went inside and and khukhar started to attack him. He told me that in panic and fear, he could not get the latch open from inside and the khukhar continued to **** him up. I guess he was traumatized and can not even stand the sight of one. Big guy too which makes it even funnier.
I have seen buffaloes hostile towards strangers. Geese attacking strangers.

But the ones not hostile towards strangers would be, roosters attacking kids only. Rams/lambs butting their heads while chasing a person. Sometimes goats getting aggressive and using horns against people..

So that’s how bad the water is. But now my cousin is working with UK Islamic NGO and are working on bore which is very deep to get fresh water.
Most villages got advanced when someone or some people from that village reached high posts. Some roads were made by brigadiers/generals of my village. A major road was made when the Governor punjab was made from village. A resort was set up near village. Industries sprung up left and right.

The most important factor in Pakistan used to be or still is "Girayeen" (person from same village). This Girayeen one cannot refuse to help whether in getting job or facilities. The common sentense was:

"yeh mera girayeen hay sir".

Means Girayeen's task has to be done for the sake of the person requesting for him, otherwise, the whole pind will know that girayeen wasnt entertained as he should have been. This girayeen culture was in Army too.

Those pinds must be somewhere in California. Pakistani pinds are like the ones presented in op.
Bhai, back in 90's when dish antennas were popular (before cable), if us kids (including cousins) had to spend summer holidays in village, we would uproot the dish antennas from house roof and take it to village for the tenure we stayed there. With nothing else to do after homework and kite flying, we had star channels at our disposal. So it depends upon life style too.

Our villagers are quite wealthy because every house has at least one person settled and working overseas, but instead of doing anything for the village, they rather spend their money on their houses/farm houses or dera’s.
