My car seized by rangers.. what to do?

Simply go to the office and take all the documentation listed below:

1) Car's registration papers.
2) Car's tax papers.
3) Service Book.
4) Arms License with proof of purchase of arm and ammo.

Rest assured your car will be fine and unused, it will be impounded, only unregistered/smuggled/non-custom paid cars are brought into service and that too after 6 months in the impound without contact from owner. There is no need for any bribe or sweets, any such action will probably turn the officer against you.

Any delays are probably because the car and weapon will be cleared by cross-matching them against the national database and only when they clear the checks will they be handed to you.

Let me ask you..... Are Pakistani Rangers Authorized to Cease a Vehicle..... This should be be a job done by Pakistani Police... If they are not authorized.... then you should lodge a FIR against them reporting illegal detainment of your personal property...

Like I said, you got into trouble by carrying a weapon when a 144 was in effect, now you'll have to wait until the details are cross-matched.

They are granted Police Powers in Karachi, so they acted in accordance with the powers granted to them.

You have four options
1) buy the car back from rangers at half price (best option)
2) get a new car forget your old one its gone
3) protest outside the press club and get killed after a few days
4) keep going to rangers office to get your car back through paper work and paying some fines (even though it would never work)

Rangers can do anything they want with you whether they have powers or not

your car is being used and being used badly...even if you get it back you will spend a lot on repairs..
best thing will be to approach ranger superiors who ever they are...
Take all the documentation you presented with you and ask them to go the legal way.
what car it was btw..? if it was a toyota new model its definitely being thrashed on the roads....

Such an irresponsible response was not expected from a gentleman with over 8000 posts under his belt. Can you support your claim with any evidence? AFAIK no impounded vehicle is used for any official or private purpose. What all this guy needs is to provide documents of his vehicle and rangers people ger CPLC certificate themselves. Yes there may be a problem incase car is registered outside Sindh that will take some time in verification. Vehicle of someone known to me was impounded cause he was not carrying registration papers, later he provided copy of registration and got his vehicle back in a week.
If still he feels some problem just pickup telephone and dial Rangers helpline 1101 and register his complaint.

Let it be a lesson. There's no semblance of law and order left in Pakistan to salvage, you know it, I know it, all the members on this board know it, and I don't think it's improving anytime soon.

So what options are left for you and your family to choose from?

* Get yourself into a position of power, so that you can either buy out the trash, or crush whosoever dares to look at you by whatever means necessary.
* Migrate to a different country.

Note: Choose option two, as the trash never actually disappears, it keeps on evolving.

Other than the above two options, sadly, nothing else will work!

Hello,
My car been seized by rangers around 2 weeks back, with car. Reason: there were 'licensed' weapon. My friend had taken the car, and we weren't aware of the weapons.
They also arrested few people but they've been let go since. However, they're not releasing the car. They keep on asking for papers and more papers. Lastly, they asked for CPLC clearance, and once we gave it they are like.. we don't consider it .. we want something else.
When we ask what? they are like.. kal aana! been going on for more than two weeks.

The car is in possession of some colonel.

Can anyone guide me on which route to go? I really like our armed forces to believe that something like this could happen.

P.S: Wasn't too sure where to post it, so did it here.
