No one is saying that muslims were the first educated person on earth. However education and governance system of muslim created super powers and powers that ruled the work (like currently in west) for almost every 1200 years.

Nothing like this can be said about texila or nalnda education centers.

On Afghanistan here would be my strategy. If I was a leader. There is no point in asking Taliban to talk. They are not going to and eventually they are going to take over Afghanistan. Our only way out is taking help of scholars from around the world specially from Pakistan. The Muftis of Deoband and slowly make them slightly modern. Introduce women education as it should be. No co education. But women also studying science in schools plus Islamic subjects and then in Universities. May be Islamic Banking also along with proper courts with proper criminal law and other laws. And only Islamic scholars can convince them. It would be a long task but that is only way to do it. Plus helping them in provide electricity and other facilities to people. That is only way out. Other wise we are doomed.

That is a great plan, and not just for Afghanistan.

Hypocrisy reeks from every part of it and you have the audacity to tell them to be "Better Muslim". First quite being a Nation of Hypocrites and then teach others to be "Better Muslims".

The mullahs have acquired thier unique lack of progressivism over hundreds of years. How do you plan on 'modernizing' them at a quick pace? By the time mullahs realize that you can use astronomical calculations to know the date of Eid al Fitr, by God, the day of judgement would be upon us.

But there is a problem: THEY ARE THE SCHOLARS!

If our government can have people like Maulana Tahir Ashrafi given public offices, I wouldn't invest in modernizing mullahs to heal Afghanistan. We coulnd heal ourselves through 'modernization' under Pervez Musharaf. We tried real hard. We even spoke English and everything.

We live in a nation that believes local saints can come out of graves at night to mediate between scuffles and bless the poor with food.... For some f*cking reason we have failed to educate our nation over the past 70 years. Everyone is basically a retard with a Rs.15,000 smartphone that can be mesmerized by watching Youtube videos reccommended to them by the algorythm. When Pakistan will achieve a literacy rate of 90%+, these mullahs would be bred out of extinction.

As far as Afghanistan is concerned, they will execute women who know ABC, and won't allow men to get western education I guarantee it. They will fail to run the government because a retarded uneducated warlord cannot become a finance minister. Soon, they will go towards anarchy and blame Pakistan for it. I don't think sending a mullah in jeans to Afghanistan will help. A big F*cking border fence with night vision/thermals, warning systems and automated sentries, however, will help a lot.
