It is a ridiculous attempt to start another demeaning thread pitching Indians against Chinese. What satisfaction do some guys get from these arguments beats me.

China is way ahead in terms of technology and execution because what the Govt thinks it does. Sometimes I like this style of governance, especially with the speed of execution... almost like what few of us see working in the rivate sector....

But saying so .... there are merits to the way a democracy works also... slow and steady.

hmmm minor incidents here and there are actually magnified to the level of big balloons ... Do you mean to say that china has successfully showcased olympics without any issues??? There would have been incidents which could be covered...
Accepted incidents happening at the neck of the time is totally not justified and kalmadi has to be punished severely for this...

Nothing new here.

India's infrastructure is obviously no where near China's and that's why GoI plans to spend $1 trillion over the next decade on setting up the infrastructure which is capable of supporting an economy that is growing at 8-9 %.

But I dont think thats the reason behind the slow pace of preparations for CWG. Its sheer lack of project planing and execution.

The games were awarded in 2003 and everything was to be completed by 2008, its 14 days for the games to go and we are still not done.

Giving autonomy to Indian CWG organizing committee and with the donkey Kalmadi as its chief for most of the duration, I now feel, the inevitable is now not very far away. More pull outs by athletes and these games are gone, and so is India's reputation.

HANDOVER ALL ORGANIZING WORK FOR ALL SPORTS TO LALIT MODI AND BCCI. THE REMAINING SPORTS FEDERATIONS ARE JUST JOKERS.

I really don't like those China vs India threads.

Both sides try to attack the other side, and at the end of the day, everyone just ends up feeling bad. Nobody really "wins" in an argument like that.

Well, its not a question of minor accidents happening.

The issue is when everything was supposed to be completed by 2008 then why is it still not done.

The ppl responsible for this mess have to be taken to task.

if the collapse of walkover bridge is minor issue, then according to you what would be major one huh? This kind of mentality drags our reputation down.

and delhi cm ms.shiela diksht says that the over bridge was meant for common people not for athletes. Lame reasoning aint it? Lives of the workers is cheap compared to the foreign athletes. Shame on her.

See everyone accepting that bridge collapse is a set back... see about the infrastructure apart from the bridge.. No doubt kalmadi has screwed india's reputation.. he has to bow on shame for creating such a mess...

Then what do you expect Ms diksht to do?? say to all athletes that the bridge is a serious infrastructure for CWG??? are you insane??? who doesnt cover up the mistake?? dont you do that???

Exactly... people are not realizing one thing... if we throw hatred something is going to change??? what ever is bound to happen will happen just wait and watch..

Further India is not solving one issue of CWG... it has got issues on multi angle and multi levels.. This is a test for us... lets wait and see

Granted both side had a fair share of corruption whilst organizing the games but shoddy construction is something not tolerated by the CPC for fear of losing face internationally. India should find those responsible for the bad building works and them.
