[Must Read] A dispatch from Afghanistan: What the Taliban offensive in Kunduz reveals

First thing that came up in Google Search. Maybe I am not that lucky.
And Indus, my post was really in support of my earlier post here, which you happily reported.
I guess, practically speaking, every single Western diplomat, journalist, Af-Pak watcher and so on, are completely clueless and wrong about Pakistan's support to Taliban and we must all take the word of Pakistani populace (commoners, not some one even more clueless like ex-dictators and ex-ISI chiefs) over them.
I wouldn't have answered you had you not been honest about the google search. Now you need to understand something, we don't deny that under Benazir, Gen Babar, created the Afghani Taliban. But today their relationship with us is very different. We don't support them anymore.

People are free to indulge in hearsay and slander, but unfortunately there is little we can do about that. So do feel free to carry on.

I keep posting this link everywhere. Admittedly I came across it on this very forum. You should check it sometime.
The Pakistani Godfather: The Inter-Services Intelligence and the Afghan Taliban 1994-2010 | Small Wars Journal

Is this the "Gospel truth" ?
Since we haven't yet had a Galileo from the Pakistani stable to open up our eyes, I guess they will remain shut in ignorance forever...................................until of course there is a Pakistani Galileo.

So are you going to be a Galileo and tear those Small War journalists a new one?

The article is so full of holes, I would have to rewrite the whole article, too tired. Do carry on.

. . .
oney talks and Pakistani isn't really a rich country nor is the pay that good except for higher officers yet again everything has a price.
Talibans control 90% of Rural Afghanistan,no matter how much strong country is supporting Insurgency,an Insurgency can't survive a day without local support. Sorry dude in this part of world loyalties are more important then money. Pakistan Army has 0 desertion and suicide rate despite of the fact that it is fighting an insurgency for 10 years.
Taliban afterall had support of Pakistani army... No wonder Osama Bin Laden was in Pakistan.
Have you seen Bin Laden,You were whining Pakistan is poor country how a poor nation can support an organization which is fighting 48 countries day and night.

Baby don't make fun of yourself. Do get confirmation from some source before posting some thing, especially evidence.

Somebody above asked for evidence
Lets see if I am feeling lucky.

Afg Equation is this . No one wants to work for the people (except a little bit in Govt of Taliban) that why local support is there for them .Indians have used Afg to destabilize Pakistan in return Pak do the favor of promoting Taliban .My question is it is very easy to point fingers at Pak over this but in the end who is to be responsible Is it Pak ,Is it India or Is it Afg it self. And as mentioned above It is Afg very correctly .As long as Afg is not committed to its people this will happen with each India and Pak playing there part .I like Ghani he seems to be sincere but his colleague are not .When Pak provided opportunity to talk in Murree with stake holders Taliban It was his ministers backed by Indians to sabotage that .Result is where we are today and it is my believe by next year if parties dont talk taliban are going to run Afg again. Solution is also there .
1. Afg needs to kick Indians out if they really want stability .
2. Get serious in talking with Taliban .

Aaaah, the problem of plenty. So many to choose from. Can you just quickly list out...........lets say... five?

Read the afghan historical affairs between 1988-1996. You will find that it was Infact india that destabilized and turned Afghanistan into proxy war between Pakistan and India. After the fall of najibullah gov , the mujahedin started to fight each other for the throne of Kabul. We brought them together, see Peshawar Accord of 1992. We even forced Hekmatyar to sign the accord , as he was refusing to sign the deal , due to the ethnic massacres of pustuns by Dostum's milita.

You guys approached Abdul shah Mossoud behind are backs. You forced him to go against our interest. He adhered to the same twisted jihadi idealogy. His ethnic massacres and corruption fueled the pushtun nationalist movement later to be known as the "Taliban " ( students) movement. It originated from Kandahar , its leaders were afghans not pakistanis. Initially we didnt even support them , we entrusted in Hekamatyar.

We took 6 million refugees , provided them with food and shelter. What did india do ? played its selfish anti pakistan games , arming and backing anti-pakistan factions against us.

We werent the only ones that propped up the taliban. US Congressman Wilson, with Mujaheddin. He arranged financing for CIA to supply weapons to the Taliban in 1987

According to Indians like @21 Dec 2012, the backing of powerful warlords, drug and arms traffickers, ex-Soviet strongmen is a completely reasonable thing to do. Sure, these warlords are keeping out real development from the country. Sure, these drug traffickers and arms traffickers have ensured that the country remains lawless and filled with criminal gangs and militias. Sure, those ex-Soviet strongmen spend more time raping women at checkposts, torturing villagers and raping kids than actually taking out the Taliban. But look on the bright side! Atleast they're not the Taliban which is filled with barbaric Islamists who want to keep Afghanistan in the medieval ages. Sure, most of the current Afghan government is filled with ex-Jihadis who originally fought against the Soviet Union to bring Shariah law to the country. Sure, one of the Taliban's outspoken enemies is Sayyaf, who is widely known as the man responsible for bringing Al Qaeda into the country. But what the heck? Atleast these guys aren't part of....(cue sinister music)....THE TALIBAN™.

Exactly, how can a pashtun fight for the current gov , when he knows that his countries tajik vice president ( dustum) was a war criminal and the butcher of pashtuns. I ve stated this before in the forum , OBL had help from both sides (NA and the taliban ). If Northern Alliance was ruling kabul at the time of 911 , it would have been NA that would have been bombed instead of the taliban. Obl would have been given sanctuary there regardless of who run Kabul.
