Muslims in India saw the Hindus use their larger numbers to "democratically" squeeze Muslims in Bengal in 1906(joined Bengal into a larger Hind-majority province, from the Muslim majority province it had become) and it was because of this, that the Muslim League was formed in the first place.
And then, when the Hindus got an opportunity to form a Congress government in the late 1930's, Muslims were appalled at the tactics being adopted. Muslim League was only marginally popular, as many Muslims believed the sweet-talking Congress leaders would look out for them, but after seeing the Hindus treat them worse than the untouchables(Muslims are "castless", below untouchable cast), Muslims everywhere voted for Muslim League(compared to late 1930s where Muslim League won very few seats, in the 1940s they SWEPT the Muslim vote everywhere).
The Indian establishment likes to keep a few puppet Muslims and Sikhs to parade around, but have brutally abused literally every religious minority present. So many cases of Christians being burnt alive, they stormed the most sacred Sikh Holy Place(Golden Temple, equivilant to their "Kaaba") and killed many sikhs there, stormed the Baburi Mosque. There is NO religion they spare from persecution - not even their own untouchables. How many cases have we seen where even Hindus who are untouchable, get treated worse than animals. A recent story reported how an untouchable woman was treated after she, as an act of kindness, fed a Brahman man's dog some food.
An empirical analysis of the situation shows that the brutality in India, especially rural India, is many orders of magnitude above anything that goes on in Pakistan or even the rest of the third world. In Islam, it's a heinous sin to desecrate churches or synagogues(holy places), as Indians have repeatedly done.
They talk about this "Mumbai blast" with all this ridiculous evidence(list of terrorists they accuse us of aiding is PROVEN fake(BBC), among countless other flip flops - don't get me started). But look at the merciless way they burnt every soul on the Samjhota Express train from Pakistan in 2006. Our government was tolerant and patient with India to the point of ineptness, with the Indian government constantly stalling and lying.
