Modern Muslims actually gain weight in Ramdan because they eat more than normal days in morning and evening.
What muslims do in ramadan is called dry fasting and what your surveying is about intermittent fast that doesnt require dry fast.
Atleast learn a thing a two about intermittent fasting before surveying
I know quite a lot about IF now. I've been on it for 7 days. Today is my 8th. And I am trying to reduce the eat window from 8 hours to 6 and now 4.
I had supper (chicken, fish, bhindi, ghee, and two besan rotis) at 6.
I'll eat again tomorrow at 2 p.m.
Water (or green tea/black coffee) has no effect on your fast.

BS! You know nothing. Just because your doing intermittent fasting doesnt mean you know alot. You dont even know how many types of fast are there in intermittent fasting.
Your main post was trying to link Ramadan fasting with Intermittent fasting and weightloss. While in reality fasting helps with rejuvenation of cells, growth and reproduction and strengthen immune system ,cleans stomach and gut area, increases cognitive development and there is so much more.
When did I say all of that wasn't true?
My focus of the survey though is kilos lost.
Which is the main aim of most who go on an IF regimen.

Guys, I'm doing a survey for a sports group I belong to.
Its about this new fad of Intermittent Fasting, where you fast for 16 hours, and eat in a 8 hour window.
Sounds pretty similar to what many of you would be doing during Ramzan, though Im guessing the fasted period would be about 15 hours max? 4 am to 7 pm?
So I would really appreciate it if you could let me know your experience. Any weight lost? How much? Has it remained the same year on year? Do you tend to eat more than normal when you can? Binge eating?
On an average how many kilos would you lose in the month? And what is your base weight?

Not surprisingly, this happens to first timers with IF too. They panic. The brain tells them to stock up while they can for the "long" fast ahead. Whereas a body of even a very thin person has enough fat to sustain starvation of 3-4 WEEKS!

In a lot of Muslim societies people don't lose weight during Ramadan, they put it on. This is because we have developed a culture of having heavy meals laden with fatty foods before and after the fasting period.
I think if you avoid this excess you can easily lose 4-5kg in a month.
How many days a week are you fasting? The 5:2 diet is recommended, but if you to do it more intensively fast every other day.
If you fast daily your body will adapt to the lack of calories and the rate of weight loss will reduce.
Currently I'm doing it everyday. 16:8, then 18:6, and last two days 20:4.
I thought 5:2 was eating regularly for 5 days with a 24 to 48 hour fasted period?
If so, I plan to do that (modified) probably on my rest day (Monday) for a start. 24 hours. I don't know about 48 hours honestly.

Lol people can be so conflicted! I know people who only attend masjid on Eid.A relative of mine used to fast and then drink alcohol after iftar. I have no idea why he fasted to begin with.
