Muslim Woman Fired From Work For Wearing Hijab In US

Why media gives publicity to such unimportant matters? Are they enjoying such incidents at the cost of dividing the society. Here employer is 100% within his authority to show doors to such unscrupulous persons. Rather, he should sue the lady to create religious divide in the society and maligning the name of his clinic.

Why she did not wear hijab at interview and first two days of work but all if a sudden she became spiritual and religious minded! Every job has dress code and employer has right to force it.

An African American CANNOT change colour of his skin. this woman has a choice NOT to wear a Hijab. She exercised that choice on the interview day and the first 2 days of her employment

If she has a choice to wear the hijab a private employer has the choice not to hire her. Their is no rule which says he has to hire her whatsoever


This particular woman is dishonest. Obviously one day she wears a hijab, the next day she does not. She is up to something.

But there are people to whom religious symbols are important . They CANNOT remove whatever that symbol may be.

Jews leave early in Friday's around the world because of the Sabbath...employers accommodate. Sikhs wear turbans and hidden daggers...employers accommodate....the hijab is the same.

I don't see why a hijab should offend anyone. If it does it is their problem not that of the wearer.

It was stated at the end of the article that the employer eulogized her by claiming that she was bringing positive energy but how did that evaporate after she started to wear Hijab? Could it be like she sensed biasness in the add or environment led her not to wear but after the praise she thought of expressing her belief? And that's not the right- winging-political-Hindus do AKA first lie low then attack when time is ripe? BTW, she hasn't attacked or harmed but has worn it for spiritual purpose, so that's not millionth as harmful of conniving Hindutavya walas.
I doubt whether any employer would eulogize a one day old employee...maximum he would have said something like Americans do " good jaab"

This woman is fake and making a fake case against the employer.

Isn't the job awarded based on employers' discretion ?? If he felt he will have to deal with hijab every day of the job and he doesn't want to do it, he wouldn't have hired her.. as simple as that.

Everyone here asking for freedom, isn't it the freedom of employer whether to choose her for a job or not ?? If it is done as a government policy or if she was denied any government position because of her hijab, then you can start questioning.. but for god's sake, what a dentist want in his office or what a manager wants in her store is upto his/her discretion. By arguing against this and blaming the dentist, you are enforcing your views on him.. not the other way. He asked her to stay neutral... no religion business.. as simple as that.. If religion is so important to her, she is free to drop the job.. if the job is important, she is free to drop the hijab in the office... she has freedom to choose. that is what important.
Nope, it's not employer's discretion as uniform policy applies everywhere regardless the nature of private or public, so your arguments in this regard are fallacious. And employer can't say no to religion in business, especially when employee's practice or belief doesn't deteriorate it. See, HONESTLY employer's cronyism was needed to address but you Hindutavya lot's allergenic-itch against Islam and Muslim would always lead to blindly attack her.

Shabana Azmi well there is definitely a lesson there, she kept your fathers and forefathers entertained on gib screen but when it came to owning property she was denied .................... may be she should have known her limits.

If U were to honestly analyze the core of cronyism/Benya giri then you wouldn't find any difference between him and Hindutavya vadis, comprende?

i dont care if he is a hindutavya vadi or not, but i recognize his right to hire/fire anyone he likes at HIS clinic. It is a private office and private property. Just as some bars dont allow some people, some offices dont allow niqab or hijab or whatever you call it.

My question here is, what problem does she have to adjust to the environment or general soceital norms ?? Why does she want to impose her choice on whole dentist's office ?? if people are offended, you need to adjust.. you just cannot claim to do what you want and cry foul when they take action because by doing the things your way, you are attracting unwanted attention and phobia. What is the probem to shun hijab, if she can do that on the day of interview and first two days at office ??

Honestly the girl just worked for a day! ...how indispensable could she have been? I bet she didn't even know where the coffee machine was!

So what about her coming to the interview without hijab ....what is you opinion in that? .....are you giving her a free pass on that?

Before you talked big you should have known how many Indians are working in Muslim majority countries. Heck they even tried to be janitorial staff of ISIS.

Indians work wherever they want and they dont enforce their religion on any place they work..

Have you heard such a story from any Indian Muslim ?? that he is seen segregated or seperated ?? NO.. you will not hear. Because Indians are taught to be tolerant and comply with the countries they work or the businesses they associate with. that goes to Indian muslims too.
