Happens all the time, she just happened to get some television airing. She's a confused little girl.

There is not a single person in my immediate family who wears Hijab. Though one of my aunt's and one of my cousins do, but they do it by choice. No one forces them.

Actually Quran does not state any punishment. The punishment for apostasy was first carried out by Moses( a.s) Several thousand jews were executed by the Aaron ( a.s) tribe, the levis.

Interestingly enough, under orthodox jewish law, the punishment for conversion to Christianity is death.

^^^ You just need to do a little research. She is Rafiqa Bary from Sri Lanka. Her family are illegal immigrants. Ironically her family came to the US and spend thousands of dollars so that her eyesight can be restored. She had lost her eye sight in one eye during some accident when she was young.
Interestingly there is no interview of the parents. If I'm not mistaken, her father had said that he justs wants his daughter to come home and that she is unnecessarily being misguided that she will be killed e.t.c. Sri Lanka is not a muslim country, its a declared Buddhist country(i.e. it doesn't state itself as a secular state), neither is there any history of honor killings there.

Suffice to say that muslims believe in Jesus as a prophet of God and every muslim has to have love and respect for him in his heart.

its so stupid the way she went about it. she got brain washed by the pastor and he convinced her to do all these things and made her go on a muslim bashing spree on national t.v. someone would have to be pretty stupid to not see this. you can see in the second video how the pastor is holding her and nudging her as if he is controlling her what to say.

this was blown out of proportion. she first claimed that the parents abused her after they found out that she had converted which turned out to be false.
All i am saying that there is a lot of hype over this issue specially from the right in america. i personally have no problem with any muslim become christian, hindu or atheist as long as they do it under there own free will
