It seems the era of 1990's is back on track.....Supreme court orders 1% increase in GST null and void. Ishaq Dar says they won't revoke the decision and 1% will be implemented. And just after 2 days, this treason news in coming.....

I think trying Musharraf won't be in PML (N) or country's favor.

Punishment for high treason : A person who is found guilty‑

(a) of having committed an act of abrogation or subversion of a constitution in force in Pakistan at any time since the twenty‑third day of March, 1956; or

(b) of high treason as defined in Article 6 of the Constitution, shall be punishable with death or imprisonment for life.

So that means if Mush is tried, he either gets death or imprisonment for life!!

If the punishment is executed, it should put the fear of God into Pakistan's army generals thinking of a coup in future.

And Mush's strategy of coming back to Pakistan and making a splash in politics has backfired spectacularly just like his Kargil fiasco! That's why they say that generals should stick to sand model discussions and making battle plans rather than meddle in politics which they haven't a clue about.

I second that, we need to get rid of these ner'd politicians. Also this won't be enough, the mushi story begun way back in 90's, his appointment as COAS was a controversial one, and PM of that time should be questioned as well. Mushi was not the next one in the line to become COAS and he was still appointed by PM.

Musharraf did it because his uniform was removed at a conference in Sri Lanka where his Indian and Sri Lankan counterparts were present. This shameful act by Pakistan Govt removed NS. That's why Pakistan Army reacted on ground. Musharraf ki wardi utar de.

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to initiate a high treason case against former military dictator Pervez Musharraf for subverting the constitution of Pakistan twice, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced in the National Assembly on Monday.
Attorney General of Pakistan Munir A Malik has submitted this stance before the Supreme Court today during the hearing.
Opposition leaders from Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) extended their support to the prime minister.
On June 6, Musharraf’s lawyer had requested the Supreme Court to find out what the newly-elected federal government’s views are on treason proceedings against his client.
“I would urge the court to ask the attorney general of Pakistan to get fresh instructions from the new government [in this regard] as the interim government had earlier declared that initiating the treason trial against Musharraf was beyond its mandate,” advocate Ahmed Raza Kasuri had requested the three-judge bench.

well oddly they broadcasted Shah Mehmood Qureshi, they should Amin Fahim, they showed YOUR GANJA PM, and suddenly they said Shiekh saab will address the NA now, as soon as he said his first line they stopped it......not one channel but each and every one of them (actually it was courtesy of PTV) stopped showing him. than now they said Ijaz ul Haq is addressing NA,but no even for a single second they broadcasted his speech.

Ok I agree air time could be expense, but they could just have shown us their speech in ticker at the bottom....no?

Air time is indeed expensive and the major issue was the proceedings against mushi. And NS's speech was also aired in its expectations. Other than that how many speeches are shown on TV when there are many made everyday in parliament.
