The way I see it, most if not all, place their country and its strategic interests over that of the ummah. Did you see any Indian muslim organisation raise even a pro Pakistan or an anti India slogan in all the 4 wars that India and Pakistan fought? That should tell you about their psych.

I think that just shows how narrow minded you are. Pakistan may talk about Islam but Islam is not its hegemony. Islam can thrive without Pakistan as it does in India. I am Indian and I am Muslim. I am proud of that and don't see any difference between the too as long as I have freedom to practice and preach my religion. The problems Indian muslims have faced in the past two decades was more because of perceived pakistani covert policies towards India than of actually being muslims(Gujrat being an outcome of that). Major majority of Indians reject communalism as has been shown int he recent elections.

It is ironic that some pakistanis consider the champions of the muslim ummah but revel at the first opportunity that Indian muslims may suffer and feel disappointed when Indian muslims proper. While at the same time Uighur muslims in china have suffered much more than the Indian muslims as they can't even practice their faith but no one cares for their plight. Why the hypocrisy?

What is there to 'get'? They are Indians and so they should, and do, support India.

Just as one would expect Pakistani Sikhs, Christians and Hindu's to support Pakistan.

One would think that after the barbarism and treason displayed by our very own Pakistani Muslims (Taliban and Al Qaeda), it would be crystal clear to you that faith alone means nothing.

We are not Pakistanis just because we are Muslim - we are Pakistanis becasue we share an ancient history and a culture, and part of that identity matrix is our faith. But it is only a part.

yeah absolutely fareed zakaria is a well known pakistan hater he was editor of newsweek one of the most anti-pakistan publications around I myabe wrong but i think he was even editor when they published the famous world's most dangerous country pakistan story with the screaming bearded guy on the cover .I seen his stuff around the internet and various news sources he's always writing about pakistan and made out to be some sort of authority on pak .I'm sure he's never even been there in his life.
