Musharraf most popular leader in country, says US survey

What do you think is Musharraf's exit strategy? This is the biggest problem with dictatorship. Let's for the sake of arguement, say that a New person came to power. Or the army decided not to support Musharraf anymore. What would be his plan, or what can he do?

Musharrafs entry into the political scene was welcomed by every segment of our society. But everyone soon realized it was not for the sake of country rather it was to carry on in his uniform.

Over the last few years Musharraf has surrounded himself with the same people who were responsible for bringing down BB and NS namely chaudhries, Mushahid Hussain Syed and so on.

He is making the same mistakes which every other dictator has made before him. Musharraf had a golden opportunity but it was lost in his lust for power.

But things can still be improved and he can leave a legacy for everyone to remember him in nice words ie if he indeed decides to give up the power.

I would not have otherwise supported BB-Mush deal but in the present situation i feel its the demand of time. BB can give Mush a chance to undo the damage he has done to the country in the last 8 years.

Democracy in Pakistan
Thursday May 03, 2007 (0622 PST)

All political parties are talking about democracy in the country but they all forget this when they come to power. They prefer only their own benefits. If we study the political history of Pakistan, we see that no political system, be it religious, democratic or military, succeeded in Pakistan. The reason is that we have no sincere leaders or parties that can work for the welfare of the nation. All of them just serve themselves. If we observe closely the three systems, I think army rule is better for Pakistan in the present situation till we have an honest leadership that acts in accordance with the true concept of democracy.
