The number of years should not matter. He went scot-free after seven years despite perpetuating such a brutal crime. There was a gross miscarriage of justice.

That ward boy too is now in his mid 60's, probably has a family, no real point in behaving as if life is a Times Now or NewsX show.

Aruna Shanbaug will be India's eternal shame, and it will remain so till we dont prosecute the man again. Thats one reason why I want this man traced.

How is that scot free? Even if he was convicted of rape, he would have done a couple more years at best. That was 40 some years ago.

Doesn't mean he did. Rape was never a crime where he would have got life imprisonment. If he did violate others, he can only be prosecuted for those crimes, not this. The fact that you haven't heard of him means that there was a even chance that he committed no more such acts. Either we need to hang everyone accused of rape or we apply the standards of serving time for the crime.

Till recently, rape cases were one of the least reported cases in India. So even if he had found new victims, the chances are that he never got reported.

I do know that it is not pragmatic to demand a reopening of this case.But i do want the man traced and shamed (no matter how impractical and emotional it might sound).

Humanity is Supreme than anything . No father, or mother want to give such pain to any human While In Islam it is mentioned that God loves the human more than 70 times A mother does.
...Otherwise inhuman , brutality, Massacre can,t happen as it happened in Peshawar school on flower kids and there are million examples.

Brother if you read the judgement copy, you'll notice that supreme court gave its judgement based on two major considerations:
1. Right to Life. The same is held supreme in all cases and permission to end life can only be granted in rarest of rarest of rare cases, that too based on medical opinion of doctors which has to be beyond challenge. In this case court found that as per medical opinion, Aruna (despite her vegetative state) was in healthy condition. Court couldnot grant permission of Euthanasia on medical ground hence.
2. second, The staff and management of KEM who took Aruna's care were held to be ones whose wishes will be taken to consider ground for euthanasia (as primary surrogates). As it turned out, KEM was vehemently against this and that led to denial of permission.
The court's verdict hence was that permission to end life cannot be given.

Then I too expect your contrymen to come on roads against the violence against women like we did. U see, in democracy, judiciary is dependent on parliament for updating its laws. And its people who make parliamentarians do their job as per their wish. Its time Pakistan come on roads for violence against women and force the lawmakers coz not even 1% rapes or domestic violence cases are registered in your country. Same was the case in India some 10-15 years back. If u keep on sleeping this situation will remain forever.

We absorbed different provision in different democratic countries for our Constitution.
