International manhunt on as Chinese National flees US after fatal car crash

Remind me of this case.

Quote
The State Department has rejected a request from London to hand over a U.S. diplomat's wife who fled the U.K. last year after she was involved in a head-on car crash that killed a young British man.

According to local police, Anne Sacoolas was driving on the wrong side of the road when she hit 19-year-old Harry Dunn, riding a motorbike, on Aug. 27 in Northamptonshire, in central England

That was a case of Diplomatic immunity. Countries protect that jealously, sometimes even when the case is utterly obvious. But if that woman was not diplomat's wife, she would have been sent to U.K. to stand trial by the next plane after receiving extradition request.

Why were you guys making a fuss about Raymond Davis leaving the country after killing somebody?
Or was it just that it involved an American National?

Raymond Davis was a Foreigner who literally walked away with Murder.

And for the record, that was the only incident you can point at.

Here's one I can point at that may have eluded you...

U.S. Diplomat Leaves Pakistan Amid Uproar Over Fatal Accident

Now, why are you seeking for a Chinese National to return when your own Diplomat (a Colonel) who ran away - like a Pussy.

The question is why was PDF making a big deal about somebody fleeing the country after somebody got killed. According to PDF members in this thread something like this is so minor it shouldn't even be worth posting.

Why was the "minor type story" that you mentioned even posted on PDF? What's wrong with PDF members??? Why post such an "insignificant" thing in multiple threads??

No, if two Non-Chinese go to China and commit a mischief that matters not a whit to Chinese, why not collect the evidence and send it to the country of foreigners for prosecution and call it job done? What is the interest of Chinese to investigate, prosecute and keep the foreigner for the duration of sentence at Chinese taxpayers' expense?

Even if both the criminals and the victims were foreigners, the Chinese Government had the right to try them as long as they had violated Chinese laws on Chinese soil. Of course, diplomats have certain immunities under international law.

This is China's judicial power, one of its sovereignties. Only a colony would give up its sovereignty.

It is not something that should be counted in terms of money, I hope you understand it.

In Anna Sacoolas case a totally innocent man died. She didn't spend a day in jail.

Well she at least didn't ignore the British court system...like you are implying.
She even pled guilty...where is this Chinese National's plea?

She skipped out on the court session completely.
Ye failed to show up to her arraignment on Oct. 23, which resulted in the judge issuing a bench warrant, according to court documents.
