F-16 Model which was offered to India was indeed the best 4th gen fighter possible for India. They were better than the F16s in service with USAF(there is a catch here)
Why India rejected it was because of CISMOA and logistic sharing agreement and some other BS !! and the other reason being pakistan operating F16s from past several decades.
anyways... F16 was not a junk and a very good fighter capable enough to intercept our MKIs.
