MRCA Competition-threat to PAF?

China & North Korea?? Lol.. Just kidding. Pakistan is bankrupt now, was not so earlier.

Ok! which bank in Pakistan went down in current crisis. I know more than 700 are already close in USA.
When did in past Pak had reserve of more than 10 billion, a stock exchange around 8000 points, export near 20 Billion?? I know these are nothing comparing Indian economy... and i am not comparing this to Indian economy but comparing Pakistan's own current and previous situation. Current power and wheat crisis are misgovernment and believe me has nothing to do with original situation on ground...but due to these artificial crisis no doubt masses are in mess not the over all economy.
WoT has also made a considerable impact on thinking in Pakistani society and i hope if PAF decide to go for a Western fighter... resources will not a problem.

Next,.... China and North Korea... Believe you me help from there was in missile development. Korea has no clue about nuclear tech. Good you made it clear that you were kidding... to me even if you are not... We have capability a deterrence to keep Indian thinking (2002, 2008 :agree:)...so does that change this regardless how Pak got this? I don't think so

I'm comparing the financial situation with what Pakistan was earlier when it paid a cash down-payment for all F-16's by the Benazir Bhutto govt. (which was also controversial). It cannot afford to do so now.

I appreciate your statistics but the fact is that only an X amount is budgeted for the Armed Forces. The PAF wanted to maximise their budget constraints and wanted a Chinese aircraft due to Geo-political and cost factor. I hope you agree with me on this.

As far as waiting for the Indian MRCA and then ordering western aircraft, i doubt that happening, atleast in a huge way (Maybe 30-40 aircraft). The PAF has already evaluated both the Typhoon and Rafale and have passed them over, due to the above mentioned constraints.

Members please explain the following:
F16 Block 70 is a purposed aircraft for MRCA
But it does'nt exist , so which Block IAF will test ?????

According to me:

F-16 = less likley because PAF uses the same
JAS = NO US would not let Sweaden sale it to India ( or they will give a low class version )

Rafale: =NO too expensive low performance
EF:2000 = likley
Mig:35 = No way
F/18 SH: = best contentor so far..
You and i may see F18's flying with IAF

Regards:

That is the reason why LM showcased UAE's airforce F-16 Block 60 in previous aero india. Block 70 will be developed something on the lines of MKI development where SU-30 were picked up and made it a jet aircraft to reckon with by bringing in multinational corporation.

According to me:

F-16 = less likley because PAF uses the same

The version of F-16 that is proposed to IAF is way different from what PAF has been using so far.

JAS = NO US would not let Sweaden sale it to India ( or they will give a low class version )

US has nothing to do with the sale of Gripen.

Rafale: =NO too expensive low performance

India's finance ministry has made provisions of extra-budgetary spending to meet extra spending on aircraft purchase.

EF:2000 = likley
Mig:35 = No way
F/18 SH: = best contentor so far..

It is depends upon which contender will provide best value for money.

well the rafale no matter how much india is willing to pay is PLAIN expensive you bring down one of those bad boys even if it is because of engine malfunction or something it will hurt!!

as for the F16 well see the fighter might be very different in terms of avionics but PAF has been flying it for way to long and knows the fighters structural limitations that can be exploited in a dogfight....the IAF will not try to go for it for that specific reason....

as for the JAS well it has US components so yes the US might pressurize the swedes to withdraw inorder to make the local US makers get some business....this COULD be the case i am not saying it will be....

MiG will be out because of the reason that the IAF wouldn't want to many fighters of the same origin.....unless ofcourse the russians promise to proivde some other military joint venture that india can benefit from something along the lines of brahmos!!!

so you are left with EF2000 ad the Hornet!!!!

Please re-phrase what you have commented above? please

If this was really the case then IAF should not have brought new versions of french made Mirage-2005, especially when PAF was using Mirage-III since 1971s. Infact, there is not much structural difference between this two brother. But what made IAF to purchase Mirage-2005 is its avionics suits and Armament and hence similar chemistry can be applied to F-16s as well.

as for the JAS well it has US components so yes the US might pressurize the swedes to withdraw inorder to make the local US makers get some business....this COULD be the case i am not saying it will be....

Oh mate, if this is really was the case then please provide some relevant link rather then baseless speculations.

MiG will be out because of the reason that the IAF wouldn't want to many fighters of the same origin.....unless ofcourse the russians promise to proivde some other military joint venture that india can benefit from something along the lines of brahmos!!!

We have already inked pact with Russians for the Joint development
fifth generation fighter jet.

so you are left with EF2000 ad the Hornet!!!!

Alas, that may not be the case.

You are right about the F16's, Gripen and the Mig 35. The 3 left are Rafale, F18 and the Typhoon.

Well the Rafale and Typhoon are similar in price. The advantage of the Rafale is IAF's existing experience with French aircraft and the other goodies being thrown in by the French Govt, not to mention full ToT including the SPECTRA suite. The Rafale has recently bagged the Brazilian MRCA contract.

The Typhoon has already seen export orders and may also be a serious contender with the manufacturers offering India to become the 5th partner in the programme which would immensely help its future indigenous efforts. The aircraft has already ordered by Saudi, but its India specific variant has yet to complete testing all its components.

The F18SH would be a choice if India was to completely play the Geo-Political card. However this aircraft will not bring 100% ToT with it, with the additional burden of being hit by any any eventuality of sanctions (Pak knows this well).

All 3 are capable platforms and will provide a mean punch to the IAF.

I agree with you on certin points, But look , PAF has an Experiance of Using F16 over 30+ years ... we developed the Flying skills that USAF has even excepted.
It does'nt matter that how Block 70 would be different because PAF will fly blck52+ which not much different from Blck 60 of UAE af.

Gripen sale to Isreal was stopped by US earlier , i think US wants its birds to be sold. so i think gripen out!
Rafale is already out ( almost)
EF2000 is likley
Mig:35 is another top of the line Russian Crap
F18 SH seems the best option
but
lets sit and watch..

any one knows when MRCA will be announced?

With reference to the topic of the thread, i think all PAF can do is to build a lethal SAM capability along with 24*7 Surveylance capability.

if u have your eyes open and arrows on ur bows ready to let loose, even a small yet effective airforce can counter a much bigger threat easily.

GOOD, attitude!
yes you are 1000%, right!
that it will , not take its load on , Indian economy ,but only on , poors living in "millions of slumps"!;):azn::lol:

And ya pakistan is like Switzerland right ? Mind your words Batmannow, everyone here please stick to the topic and dont get personal. If india has poor people it also has the highest number of billionaires in Asia where on the other hand pakistan does not even have one. Again i can go on and on but this is not the thread for that so please everyone control your emotions and dont use offensive language, act like adults please

Rafale: =NO too expensive low performance :hitwall:

Rafale: = too expensive but have good chance
EF:2000 = likley
Mig:35 = may be
F/18 SH: = good plane but lots of roktok spacialy kallu era

India will play the safe card with MMRCA.

They will buy the Dassult Rafael Reason being the IAF pilots love the mirage 2000 reliability near 100% service record.

The USA teens great planes too much baggage to many restrictions re TOT.

MIG35 well IAF is about to order 50 more su30mki and have PAK FA FGFA programme.

Gripen too similar to LCA and USA restrictions again imposed

Typhoon good plane but geared to air superiority and no AESA radar

Lol exactly what I said in post 307. We think alike.

Rafael it is then.

Prehaps we should be on the MMRCA selection committee.

Joking apart Rafael ticks all the boxes

ie.

Late 4++ generation so will remain frontline and be upgraded til 2040 TIMEFRAME

No TOT issues as France will give India everything.

No fear of sanctions.

Will not upset russians.

Already french fighters in IAF and wel loved by all ie Mirage 2000.

Working AESA radar by 2012.

Combat proven already in Afghanistan

Cheaper than Typhoon.
