In a handout issued on Monday, the MQM Rabita Committee said that the decision, made in a joint meeting of Rabita committee in London and Karachi, has been sent to MQM Chief Altaf Hussain for the approval.
“It is now very difficult to stand with PPP as they fail to fulfill the rational demands of MQM,” the handout said.
The Committee further said that the policy of tolerance and patience should not be deemed as the weakness of MQM adding that the party would continue to perform its positive role while sitting on opposition benches.
The Rabita committee further directed the people to wait for the final decision and be ready to give sacrifices as they did in early periods.

This was expected, thats why no one commented for last five days.

Well, I somewhat had an idea that MQM won't quit, but the timing of the threat left me wondering if the threat had anything to do with Asif Sahab's recent visit to Dr. Zulfiqar's place.

so you agree MQM has POWER & AUTHORITY? if so then all the mess ups they are responsible for it having "power & authority"! they shouldn't be voted for in next election. no one should vote for MQM,PPP & ANP in next election all 3 parties had power & authority & did nothing!

MQM should stop topi drama this is 21st century people have started to understand the hypocrisy of MQM.

I sort of agree that ultimatums have become a joke, however, every time MQM gives an ultimatum the PPP Govt. woes them back. This time, I am sure the ultimatum was on the local Sindh ordinance which PPP was delaying for no apparent reason.

Whom to vote then, Dr. Magsi?
From what I see, MQM's likely to secure more seats, not necessarily in Karachi only, more than 25 Seats this time. Probably 30.

that is not possible when they divide sindh into 2 different divisions! one for the rich which has LG and one for the poor rural areas which doesn't have LG system.

You have raised a valid point technically but not democratically as LG system should be the choice in terms of technicality and achievements, however the 'poor', as you have so bluntly put them, do not want LG system.

The ones who are against this bill are actually against LG system.

question should be why do the poor dislike the LG system? they mut have a reason don't you think? they must be opposing it for a reason.

and this is the time Pakistan needs unity not isolation. if we leave the poor rural area people out of a single system more grievences will grow and then we will again have a problem like baluchistan.

so either LG for all of sindh or not at all. infact i say make LG system for all of pakistan or not at all. no moe politics of vote banks!

I don't think it's the 'people' that are opposing it, it's rather the political parties that have invested heavily in the non-LG system. Basically it is a fight b/w a democratic system (LG) and a non democratic system (establishment). The common man has no idea what's going on, he is merely led on this ride by those who have led us for decades.

You are educated, which system do you think works better? Do you personally have faith in the establishment (DC/AC's and so on)?

Well, if you merely impose this system throughout Sindh just because you 'can', would it not be even more unfair? Hopefully, the masses will realize that LG system has major advantages with the passage of time and so have it implemented throughout the country. But till then, why should the smarter ones suffer?

First time in the history of Pakistan no party in Sindh can blame Punjab , its a Sindhi Vs Sindhi thing.

There is a Sindhi President a Urban Sindhi Governor and local nationalists / no escape goat like Punjab this time :coffee:

wait my gin says : PML(N) money might be going to nationalist in Sindh and they think President and MQM can divide Punjab alone for votes
