MQM - Political Desk

If what you say is true, than these people deserve what is happening to them. More than 15000 citizens of Karachi killed, it used to be the 'City of Lights' but now its the 'City of Blood'. Law and Order situation is so bad in Karachi that my cousin scolded me when i took out my mobile phone when we were travelling in the car, this is something you don't experience in other parts of Pakistan.
You wont understand what Problems Karachi Actually Face. Mobile Snatching is petty Crimes compare to kind of Criminals that exist in Karachi and the only reason for their existence is CORRUPT Provincial Govt. and Irresponsible Federal Govt. A person who cant visit some specific Spots because he has danger of being Kidnapped can Tolerate Mobile Snatching in exchange for lossing everything and that is what have happened to many Anti MQM Areas in Karachi where Gang war, Terrorists and different Mafias have done with people.

MQM involvement in crime and terrorism is not hidden anymore. Even after its face has been exposed, these people still vote for MQM, than they deserve to live a life of fear and death. I am slowly loosing all sympathy for them. If a political party brings them only misery and death, and yet they still vote for them, than they should bear the consequences for voting for that party.
MQM militancy thing is lesser evil then the kind of evil exist in Karachi so people are willing to tolerate MQM with their petty Crimes in exchange for Most Notorious Criminals that exist in other areas. That is the main reason they still get some support in Karachi otherwise if Karachi is to be Cleaned and Cleared and then kept it Clean and Clear from Crime then MQM have to either change their Ways or they cant be able to survive.

Not really, a political party with a militant wing is far more dangerous than a militant party. It does not matter if it is the lesser of the evil, the only thing that matters is that it is evil and it is not going to be part of the solution.

Like I said its Tolerable to the extent when we have other parties using more Notorious mafias against the people. In the past we have seen MQM had also Stopped or Limit their Militancy when they had Opportunity between 2002 to 2007. In that period this whole Militancy related Accusation on MQM was fading away but when PPP took Control and started their Record Breaking Performance of Bad Governance they had to active the whole thing which they were trying to get rid of. Its not entirely their Faults rather its Circumstances which brought them to this path.

Posted on: 3/31/2015
Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) said it has no fears from any one in NA-246 by-elections and expressed sureness that MQM will emerge victorious with heavy margin from the seat.
Addressing a press conference here, MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi said a large number of PTI workers reached Jinnah Ground without facing any obstacle. He said children were playing cricket and Imran Ismail also joined them.
In the meanwhile, he said, PTI workers ridiculed and tore up panaflex and posters. They [PTI] workers also disrespected monument of martyrs, he claimed.
He said ethics also hold importance in politics and democracy. He was of the view that PTI attempted to use force today to reinforce their agenda.
Election commission should summon political parties concerned and devise a code of conduct to prevent such disorders ahead of by-elections, added the MQM leader.
He said PTI leaders tried to hold press conference with force at Karachi Press Club. When the KPC management barred Imran Ismail from hogging someone else’s time, PTI leaders misbehaved with the press club members and left.
MQM-nominated candidate Kanwar Naveed Jameel will emerge victorious from NA-246 constituency, maintained Rizvi.
Rizvi said NA-246 is a stronghold of MQM since 1988 where admirers of MQM chief Altaf Hussain have been residing and they would vote MQM to victory.

The London Metropolitan police had confirmed that a 60-year-old man had been arrested from northwest London property on charges of money-laundering, but they declined to disclose the exact identity for "legal reasons."

However, there is no confirmation from the British authorities that the arrest made today is linked to the money laundering probe involving some MQM members.

Take a look: Altaf Hussain arrested in London for money laundering

According to a 2013 BBC Urdu Service report, the Metropolitan Police had confirmed in a written reply that ‘a considerable amount of money’ had been found during raids on the MQM chief’s residence and office in London, however no arrest had been made then.

It said the cash was found when a counter-terrorism unit of police raided Hussain’s office on Dec 6, 2012 under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act in connection with the investigation of Dr Imran Farooq murder case.

However, no further details were provided by police as they said the money was seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Two more raids were carried out in as many houses in north London on June 18, 2013 and again a considerable amount of money was seized.

The BBC Urdu Service report had quoted police as saying that it was being investigated as to how and under what circumstances the money had reached the three places.

Talking to the host of BBC Two Newsnight, which aired a documentary about Altaf and his party, senior MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar had also admitted the seizure of some money during raids in London.

He, however, said he could not comment on the investigation into possible money-laundering while police inquiries were in progress.
