There is no denying that atrocities have indeed been committed against muhajirs (mind you they've retaliate in even more severe ways) and even the term muhajir has been villanized by state institutions which is extremely sad because they are probably the most educated and cultured group in all of Pakistan, but it is in the past now and we need to move on and stop putting these labels on people because logically if you're born in Pakistan then you're not a Muhajir anymore.

Unfortunately, Muhajir has become an indicator of ethnicity in Pakistan. MQM made its name on this distinction and still banks on it. I've talked to several MQM supporters here in the US and many have told me they are true Pakistanis because they made the ultimate sacrifice: they abandoned their homes and came to Pakistan, while for others -- Punjabis, Balochs, and Sindhis -- Pakistan came to them.

The scars of the 92 operation where the military/rangers carried out similar atrocities as they did in 71 are still fresh among the areas that experienced them(I have met a few hitmen for the MQM who were witness to their sisters or mother being raped by a few Army and police personell during the 92 operation- that will require justice and the officers/leadership involved that pushed and authorized these tactics- it wasn’t a majority nor was it more than a few men, but they did carry these atrocities out and got away scot free ) , but by far and wide the “Mohajir” aspect is pretty much dying.

The past decade have seen a record number of inductions from Karachi and other populated areas as well into the military, no such sentiment would be possible without willing people.

You wish to talk about MQM go ask those who were killed by its target killers they would even at times drill holes into head of those who belonged to other ethnicities on Urdu speakers they have always remained the wealthiest group in this country Musharaf was an Urdu speaker,Mamnoon Hussain is an Urdu speaker,Mirza Aslam Baig is an Urdu Speaker that bs of discrimination is nothing more than MQM propaganda who hate all those who dont support them or in some cases are not urdu speaking people themselves
Just like all rotten things Muhajir ethnic movement too was started by Zia to weaken PPP in Sindh it spiraled out of control when they dogs came back to bite after that we made numerous half assed attempts at rooting them out but our policies kept shifting with different govts all we ended up doing was going after low level supporters which actually helped the fat toad in getting more recruits then Musharaf happened rest is recent history

I too know some of these wrongdoings mostly done by police.. not by military/ rangers I can tell you for sure..

Military and rangers have been involved in one or two such incidents, not more..

It was police.. I remember there are was a police officer named Bahadur Shah, he took naked pictures of a girl whose brother was a fugitive.. He gave deadline of 72 hours to the girl/ other family members for him to surrender or her pics had to be published on posters..

Within 72 hours, MQM guys killed more than 12 police officers including him while he was patrolling Nazimabad area.. I heard that the brother himself took part in this and people who saw this tell that he was the one who continued firing on his face for 5 minutes.. before leaving..

If it wasn't police, Karachi people would have left MQM a long ago..

Problem with Urdu Speakers is that MQM has killed more Urdu Speakers than police itself.. We all know that police carries out atrocities.. but who doesn't know that police is same across all provinces (KPK is better now)... But no political party has killed its followers like MQM..

Well lets just say a lot more happened between rival ethnic groups have heard harrowing tales from the OTHER side in Metroville all groups have done shit in name of power struggle at the end of the day it all comes down to lack of opportunities that results in us lashing out at so called others

It maybe an uncomfortable topic for some but MQM used to ethnically patrol certain locations you wouldnt be sold property if you belonged to certain ethnicities in certain localities

Musharaf did a lot of good things but him letting Nawaz off the hook,allowing MQM breathing space,ji hazori to US and allowing PPP and PMLN to reestablish themselves through NRO was the worse

If it wasn't police, Karachi people would have left MQM a long ago..

The entry of certain ethnic groups was banned before the rangers operation we have nothing but the rangers operation to thank for what Karachi is now
