Addressing a state-level party convention here on Sunday, Gaur disclosed that he had once told the wife of a Russian leader that he would teach her how to remove a dhoti.
The remarks gave some uncomfortable moments to those attending the convention, many of them women. State BJP chief Nandkumar Chouhan was also present.
Gaur, 84, said the wife of the Russian leader was curious to know how he managed to wear a dhoti sans a zip or a belt.
“I told her I can’t teach you how to wear it, but I can certainly teach you how to remove it, but that too later not now,’’ the minister was quoted as saying in local media reports.
Guar went on to brag about another incident when a Russian woman kissed him on the forehead and that he had to make an effort to prevent other women from following suit.
“Russian women are healthy. Had that photograph (of a woman kissing his forehead) been available locally, the BJP would not have given a ticket in the first place,’’ he told the gathering.
While the minister's remarks had those attending the event in splits, the remarks are sure to generate controversy.
