What's new

Moviegoers rejoice: Pakistan to get 1,000 cinema screens

That might be true for Indian occupied Kashmir but AJK has movie theatres.

Yeah I was talking about the Kashmir Valley/Sri Nagar. Movie theatres shut down in 1990 due to the uprising and militancy and no new ones are being built, because Kashmiris or rather the religious organizations in the valley consider it haram. I just find it ironic.

Plenty of movie theatres in Jammu division though.

Arif Alvi won from that place right(current president) ? Whats his view on our film industry :D?
Well the numbers speak for themself what the public wants be it on tv or cinema
The people like films which you despise
Opening cinemas will do nothing for optics but will be good for economy
Beta aqal istemal karo

Arif Alvi won because of PTI ticket. No more, no less.

The true ideological candidates in truest form were Jibran and TLP guy.

Open secularism vs EXTREME religiousness. We both saw what happened there.

Your burger arse is too under-educated to get this, but behavior of liberals make even normal everyday people become increasingly conservative. Nobody in Pakistan wants their daughters to be wearing shorts and backless dresses. PTI needs to be the sane conservative party that gives masses a voice. Landay ki angraiz like you don't understand the nature of political behaviors of mass populations.

The basic point stands: Headline of "PTI govt announces to open 1000 cinemas across Pakistan" is a very, very negative thing to be associated with politically for PTI.

Stop this idiotic point of "oh but Pakistanis love to watch xyz"....Pakistanis watch lots of p*rn as well. Try to make p*rn industry legalize in Pak with Pakistani girls performing the p*rn on camera----and come back to me how "positively" Pakistanis take to this suggestion. Afterall, they love p*rn :lol::lol:

Burgers like you have your head so far in your arse. Wouldn't care at all if it didn't have a chance of harming PTI electorally and making Pakistani society even more conservative-----benefitting reactionary extremist political forces like TLP (which got 2 million+ votes in their first ever election with no groundbase, infrastructure, experience---mind you).

Keep being a b!tch boy for liberals----and soon enough TLP might cross 5 million mark.

@Zibago

It will be good news for the entire subcontinent if the Pak film and TV industry does well. There is a lot of talent in the region. Especially in the story telling department on the TV side.

Regards

Its already doing well it will do even better with the addition of a 1000 new cinemas

I agree with the idea that the content of Pakistani cinema is not always particularly halal, I'd prefer our story telling to be done in a more conservative manner, but TLP was a protest vote, not a ground reality. They might be around for another election, but they won't be significant beyond that. Our people are hypocrites, 90% of those who vote for TLP also like the chaska of bollywood item numbers, they just don't like to be seen to be enjoying them.

And Arif Alvi represents the true narrative of pti
No one is telling anyone to wear anything if you actually used your brain this is about the film industry and how people of Pakistan are spending their hard earned Rupees on local made films and the government supports it burning of mullahsaurases and baboons make it even better :D

The lack or gain of cinemas has zero chances of harming pti as for tlp it only ate the baboon league vote as baboon league had that crazy bloc

TLP ate pmln vote that crazy voter never liked pti to begin with

The soft power of media and specifically movies cannot be undetstated. Getting your narrative to reach the screen is imperative. Even movies like Allahyar and the legend of the markhoor help spread a posotive image of the country abroad. An increase in screens is therefore positive.

.
good news, but i have 1 question. Why does govt control the numbers of cinema halls in pakistan?

.
Good way to increase tax collection but no Bollywood crap .. promote local industry and those who do not copy the shit from across the border.

Pakistan Film Producers Association demands complete ban on Indian films
Dated: October 12, 2018

Senior representative PFPA, Chaudhry Ejaz Kamran, told The Express Tribune, “If Indian stake holders and organisations can take a stand and do everything for the welfare of their industry, then why can’t we? They have banned our artists and films in the past so what’s stopping us?”
PFPA has previously been active in persuading past government tenures for the implementation of the same ban. However, its efforts have not always been fruitful.
A petition for a ban against Indian films has been submitted to Lahore High Court.
The association believes that, for the sake of our local film industry, the government should impose the said ban.

Good thing is it isn't Nawaz Shareefs government. Bad times ahead for cheap entertainment. :enjoy:
