holds true for Dick Cheney for sure, what a tool that guy was/is.

anyway, guys.. not to troll, but seriously, in today's world.. jihad = religiously motivated terrorism and killings etc, there's no point trying to swim against this tide.. those who have bothered to research already know it's original meaning and original noble cause etc

better you try and go cure the proponents of this modern violent version than to try educate the masses.

You are aware that the word "tool" has also come to mean what "Dick" has, right?:cheesy:

Damn, why so many words for the male's toy?

I dont feel like explaining or removing misconceptions, those who want to befooled, remain so anyway.

What is the point of telling everybody that the real meaning is something else? Is that any consolation to millions of people who have been victims of the "not real" jihad? The point is that there are millions of muslims who believe jihad to be a worldly war against infidels or anybody they dislike, and that jihad is the one that is making any significant consequence today, not the "real" version. Hundreds of thousands of muslims are actively waging physical jihad today, millions have done so in the past, in every day and age since islam began.

Try to teach your own people the "real meaning" of jihad and make them stop doing what you think is the unreal one. After that, you can teach others about the real meaning. Until then, while your fellowmen are slaughtering people everywhere and calling it jihad, the victims of jihad are not the ones you should be rushing to with a dictionary.

In short: Tell it to the muslims doing the unreal jihad, and convince them.

Sir the argument then arises that those who believe Jihad is war against disbelievers, they are not Muslims. I have been told here 200 times the same thing. Who obeys 5 pillars of Islam is a muslim, and according to 5 pillars one cannot do crime. But then there are few contradictions in The Book too. So the question is , who do these crimes are Muslims?

@Color_Less_Sky

As you may recall, this was my point exactly.

The definitions of Islam, their connotations, and debates thereof, are of little interest to those who do not believe in Islam.

What is of great interest to those who do not believe in Islam, however, is that they and their loved ones not get killed by those who do believe in Islam, in the name of Islam.

It is little consolation to be told that they were killed by a deviant form or interpretation of Islam.

That is for you to decide amongst ourselves. What is deviant and what is true.

But for us (those who do not believe in Islam), we will see those who do as Muslims, be they peaceful or violent, and our further actions will be colored accordingly.

As long as intolerance and hatred exist against the so called infidels, jihad or any word and the meaning associated with it do not make sense.

It has less to do with what it actually means and more to do with what it has come to be associated with.

Take the word "Gay" for example. As such the word originally and still in it essence means to be happy. But today its only reference is to homosexuality.
Are you 'Gay'?
@Jazzbot thanks for the share buddy. Some idiots need to come out of their delusion .

You can take a horse to a meadow but you can't make it drink.

Most Indians who commented here openly accepted that they hate Muslims. Why bother with these hateful little people. If the mere actions of a certain people are the representation of the majority of the said people, then to me, Indians are rapists, Americans are war mongering modern day crusaders etc etc. If that's how they like to play ball, then so be it. :lazy2:
