What's new

Most beautiful month in the year*_*

Please quit distracting from the main thread.

It is about Fasting practices.

Thank you.

p.s. Sorry to see that you talk about Hazrat Khadeeja (as one "woman").

You never gave names of 1000 Makkan families who killed their newborn girls. I at least gave one. Oh and please do not forget the mother of Mohammad pbuh. She wasn't imported from some place. She was local born and brought. In fact she was rich enough to afford a nanny for 2 years.

you'd do find names including one of a sahaba but the specific site where infanticide was committed can be seen and was left for the onlookers to remember but last time is was cordoned off and would've unfortunately been bulldozed by now and the custom of female infanticide is recorded and also condemned
Quran Verse (16:59) "With shame does he hide himself from his people, because of the bad news he has had! Shall he retain it on (sufferance and) contempt, or bury it in the dust? Ah! what an evil (choice) they decide on?"

you used the word woman (singular) and are implying Hazrat Khatija for being a pagan when no recorded history proves to similar is the case of Hazrat Amina so much for your meager respect

Oh meray bhai,

Please do not forget that Ramadan is a month in the lunar calender. The calender itself was started long long time before Mohammad pbuh.

Similarly the fasting month was celebrated by the worshippers of moon god and pagans, long long long time before Mohammd pubh.

Thus calling them "Islamic month or Islamic calendar" is rather unfair, and totally incorrect.

Having said that, the month of fasting does have huge benefits for individuals and for the nations, if we all understand how

-------- Pagans and moon worshippers used to fast during the month of Ramadan.

1. For Pagans and moon worshippers the most salient aspect of Ramadan was based on total avoidance of war and fighting.

----- Muslims today do not believe in this holy practice. the most religious among us kill and maim the most during this holy month.

---- Thus many of us are worse than the pagans and moon worshippers.

2. Pagans and moon worshippers used to practice meditation (keeping silent) during the day and avoided the religious mumbo jumbo that we the Muslims have adopted now.

----- Muslims today do not believe in this holy practice. the most religious among us continue to shout the loudest and fail to meditate in absolute sense (the way pagans and moon worshippers did).

3. Pagans and moon worshippers avoided overeating from dusk to dawn

---- Muslim today indulge in binge eating with utter disregard for their bodies and their souls.

4. Pagans and moon worshippers used to avoid sex, and food from dawn to dusk.

--- Muslims today have kept this tradition in some form or the other.

Thus out of the 4 major traditions of pagans and moon worshippers, Muslims practice only 1 (that is #4) and therefore we do not treat Ramadan in the most sacred sense as the it was meant to be in the original traditions.

peace to you.

May you live long and prosper

May you have great spiritual experience during this holy month.

Amen

hate to say it you are dead wrong "mein namaz parhta houn".... in fact im sure you have miss read and have read the part written by Fauj Historian (post 5 which i had quoted) who clearly called both Bibi Ammna and Hazrat Khadija as pagan (idol worshippers) which to him is not smearing their good names

please read from the beginning he goes on to say that hajj ramadan all are pagan ideas refined by Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and i have stated that no in fact they had been ordained by Allah on all the messengers before Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and for that he called me ignoramus, mullah islamist bla bla bla and yes i have read alot on islam in fact i advise you to do the same because "new evidence after 1400 years suggest quite the opposite of what we are taught" Sarcasm

even though i have a punjabi background but born and raised in Karachi your punjabi is abysmal

Allah praised the month of Ramadan out of the other months by choosing it to send down the Glorious Qur'an, just as He did for all of the Divine Books He revealed to the Prophets. Imam Ahmad reported Wathilah bin Al-Asqa` that Allah's Messenger said: (The Suhuf (Pages) of Ibrahim were revealed during the first night of Ramadan. The Torah was revealed during the sixth night of Ramadan. The Injil was revealed during the thirteenth night of Ramadan. Allah revealed the Qur'an on the twenty-fourth night of Ramadan.)

Allah said: (...a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong).)

Here Allah praised the Qur'an, which He revealed as guidance for the hearts of those who believe in it and adhere to its commands. Allah said: (and clear proofs) meaning, as clear and unambiguous signs and unequivocal proof for those who understand them. These proofs testify to the truth of the Qur'an, its guidance, the opposite of misguidance, and how it guides to the straight path, the opposite of the wrong path, and the distinction between the truth and falsehood, and the permissible and the prohibited.

In these modern days when people hanker after indulgence in ephemeral pleasures, one needs to return to the seclusion of the house of prayer from time to time; which is essential for one’s spiritual rejuvenation and the return to one’s Creator.
Thus the beloved Prophet has taught us how to use Ramadan as a month for disciplining our intransigent passions, for renouncing our desires for self gratification and for practicing patient endurance in the face of hardships.

The Prophet exhorted us that during Ramadan most especially it is our duty to support and uplift our less fortunate fellow humans. Above all, Ramadan is a month of contemplating the Grace and Bounty of God Almighty, of returning to our Guardian Lord in repentance, of sincerely seeking His forgiveness.

Wassam Azaqeer, a Lebanese, who lives in a country surrounded by icebergs called “Greenland”, is the only Muslim in this state who is fasting daily for 21 hours with full determination.
Greenland is the largest island in the world; lies between the North Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean; a self-governing province of Denmark.
According to an Arab TV report, Wassam Azaqeer, who is living in Greenland from the past several years and has been called “Arab Columbus” as he is the only Arab Muslim who not only managed to live in Greenland-despite the long and difficult journey, but also running a successful business in the capital city of Greenland called Nuuk.
Wassam, is running his own restaurant where he receives 200 customers each day.
The month of the Ramadan, this year, came in summer so Wassam has to fast for 21 hours and after Iftaar he only got 2 hours to prepare Suhur - the pre-dawn meal to start next fast.
In these 2 hours Wassam, also has to offer the Maghrib and Isha prayers.
Wassam says that he is very proud Muslim to be living on a state where he is the only one fasting and praying in the name of Allah.
He says he sometimes think about going to Lebanon in this holy month but he stops himself by thinking that if left Greenland, there wont be anyone to fast and pray on this land

162. Say (O Muhammad): "Verily, my Salat (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).___

It was the practice of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to strive during the last 10 days of Ramadaan like no other time, to spend the night in prayer, supplication and recitation of the Qur'an. He also used to wake his family up to do the same.
Abu Hurayrah said that the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Whoever stays up and prays on Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven."
(Hadith - Bukhari & Muslim)
Thus, the Muslim should make good use of the last 10 nights of Ramadaan and spend them in prayer and remembering Allah. We do not know for certain which night Laylat al-Qadr is, but the odd-numbered nights in the last 10 days are the most likely according to the hadith:

"Seek it in the odd nights of the last third of Ramadan."

(Hadith - Bukhari)

The night of the 27th of Ramadaan (ie the night before the fast of the day of the 27th of Ramadaan) has been narrated as being Laylat al-Qadr.

Last 10 days and Laylat al-Qadr

In the last 10 days of Ramadaan is the blessed night of Laylat al-Qadr (Night of Decree and Honour - sometimes incorrectly translated as 'Night of Power'), which every Muslim is encouraged to seek out because during this night the angels descend to earth with goodness, mercy and blessings. It is also well established that Laylat al-Qadr is an honoured night because it was the night on which the Qur'an was revealed.

"Verily, We have sent it (this Qur'an) down in the Night of Al Qadr. And what will make you know what the Night of Al Qadr is? The Night of Al Qadr is better than a thousand months (ie worshipping Allah in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, ie 83 years and 4 months). Therein descend the angels and the Rooh [Jibreel (Gabriel)] by Allah's Permission with all Decrees, (All that night), there is peace (and goodness from Allah to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn "

(Qur'an - 97:1-5)

Waathilah ibn al-Asqa 'said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "The Scriptures of Ibraaheem (Abraham) were sent down on the first of the month of Ramadaan. The Tawraat (Torah) was sent down on the sixth of Ramadaan . The Injeel (Gospel) was sent down on the thirteenth of Ramadaan. The Zaboor (Pslams) was sent down on the eighteenth of Ramadaan, and the Qur'an was sent down on the twenty-fourth of Ramadaan. "

(Hadith - Ahmad and al-Tabaraani)

Abu Hurayrah said: "The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: 'There has come to you Ramadaan, a blessed month. Allah has made it obligatory on you to fast (this month). During it the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hell are locked, and the devils are chained up. In it there is a night that is better than a thousand months, and whoever is deprived of its goodness is deprived indeed. '"
