There is a high possibility of a partial transfer of technology. There are certainly negotiations in this direction and an agreement in larger areas, including the maritime industry, and It is not to rule out that the speedboat deal will be a surprise with a Moroccan Turkish JV in the industry and armament..

Gölcük shipyard command is currently a submarine specialized facility. Some infrastructure works are ongoing at İzmir Alaybey shipyard and the situation may change in the future, but as of now, Pendik Shipyard is the main engineering and production center for surface platforms. In smaller platforms such as FAC and patrol type boats, we can say that production activities have now shifted entirely to private shipyards. When you look at the map, the shipyards just east of the Pendik Shipyard is the Tuzla shipyards area, and just across Tuzla is the Altınova (Yalova) shipyards area. This region(Gulf of İzmit) as a whole forms the backbone of the Turkish shipbuilding industry and at least 10 private shipyards are already involved in navy projects.

It doesn't matter whether it is a partnership with Turkey or not; the serious presence of the Moroccan navy in the Mediterranean and Atlantic is extremely satisfying situation to all fraternal nations. I hope Moroccan authorities are also considering its domestic industrial opportunities as well as all these modernization plans.

And It is not in the same class of what Morocco is getting.. Maybe in the future for the Mediterranean sea.. These are designed primarily for SW..

Morocco and Saudi Arabia needs to focus on getting submarines.

I don't think Turkey has put them on the market yet because it is new but later this year I think we will see alot of purchase on this special boat it will find market big time.. God save all the illegal fishermen in the world being stopped by an AI...

I think many customers will get it as they will be specifically going for it

It looks like ATMACA's first foreign operator will be Bangladesh, not Morocco.

Regarding the FAC-55 concept drawing above, within the framework of the CAATSA sanctions announced in mid-December 2020 and the embargoes that have been implemented for several years, the main propulsion system and weapon configuration on the boats are developing through different alternative plans. Here, it caused some domestic navy projects to be brought forward and prioritized. For example, MKEK 76mm naval gun instead of Leonardo/Oto Melara's 76mm, ATMACA B1/B2 Anti-Ship Guided Missiles instead of RGM-84L Harpoon Blok II. Also GÖKDENİZ CIWS, MKEK 20mm CIWS, SUNGUR PMADS or SAPAN/HİSAR-A+ Systems will be preferred instead of 21-cell Mk49 Mod 3 Launchers and RIM-116 Blok 1A/HAS Missiles. In addition to these, ASELSAN, TÜBİTAK SAGE, METEKSAN, etc. made sensors and navionics are planned to be used on this platform.

The Turkish type missile(assault) boat / TTHB project is a very ambitious project. A lot of effort has been spent on this for a long time. The navy wants to have both a mariner ship, a fully operational ship with 5 sea state, maximum firepower, and a platform that can reach speeds of 55+ knots. In short, it wants to reduce two different types of ships to a single platform. According to many Turkish defense industry enthusiasts, this was an effort that is unlikely to be achieved.

Undoubtedly, one of the most prominent requirements for the Turkish Type Assault Boat Project will be the stealth characteristic of the ship. The radar cross-section and infrared (IR) trace of ships will be difficult to detect by the enemy. In addition, the acoustic and magnetic tracks of the gunboats will be significantly reduced. Another issue that STM has stated and attracts attention is that the ship will serve as a part of air defense warfare besides its patrol duties.

For the first phase of this project: After the contract negotiations with the STM firm, the Term-1/Contract Design Phase was signed on 31 August 2020.The duration of the signed Term-1 Contract Design is 24 months, and it is planned that the first ship will be delivered in approximately 30 months with the Phase-2 Prototype Construction process to be carried out afterwards. As a result, it is aimed to realize the first delivery in approximately 54 months, as a result of 24 months of design and 30 months of prototype construction activities. After the first prototype is produced, testing activities and actual shooting tests will take place.

The characteristics of the ship will be as follows:
  • 62.67 meters long and 9.84 meters wide
  • 1.68 meters draft
  • Displacement of 535 tons
  • High speed (55+ knots)
  • 3D Surveillance Radar/IFF, ARPA/LPI Navigation Radar, E/O Director, STING Radar
  • 76 mm Gun, 2x hideable anti ship missile canisters, 2 x 12.7 mm STAMP, 1x RAM/CIWS, CHAFF and Decoy launchers
  • 90 tons of fuel and 8 tons of clean water capacity
  • Full operational ability in severe weather and sea conditions
  • +20 knots economical speed, 1000 nautical miles cruising range at this speed
  • 1000 nm at 20 knots, 750 nm at 50 knots
  • Anti magnetic steel hull and superstructure
  • 3 x 200 kW diesel generators auxiliary
  • COGAG 28 MW, 3 x water jets
  • 34 personnel capacity, growth capacity for more special purpose sensors and living space

The Royal Moroccan Navy is in talks with the Turkish shipbuilder, Golcuk Shipyard, to acquire Kilic II missile launchers and a light frigate, as well as warships.

According to the details of the news, which was published by the "Tactical Report" website, which specializes in security and defense, the Royal Moroccan Navy is interested in purchasing boats of Kilish 2 missile launchers in an updated and modified version.

The Royal Moroccan Navy is in talks with a Turkish shipbuilder to purchase 15 ships, including 10 ARES 35 FPBs and 5 ARES 80 SAT, to bolster the kingdom's coastguard fight against illegal immigration.

The ARES 35 FPB, according to the Turkish shipbuilder, is a well-proven platform with a high speed capability of over 35 knots, gliding characteristics compatible with harsh environmental conditions, and a total length of 11.90 m.

The military and security partnership between Morocco and Turkey has increased in recent years and months. Last month, Turkey began delivering 13 Bayraktar TB-2 military drones to the kingdom.
