More signs point to U.S. economic recovery losing momentum

.
At this point the US economic catastrophe has begun to worry even me. As much as I'd like to see them get their long-awaited just deserts, I don't need them dragging our economy to Hell along with theirs. US 2Q GDP got mauled. I especially don't need to see a COVID zombie apocalypse flooding the border.

Luckily, we seem to be in OK shape so far (knock on wood). Trump makes every other government on Earth look fantastically hyper-competent.

it makes no difference. the FEDs continue to print and pump the dollar. the markets are flying. Gold is $2071. Bank of england ( also private bank like the FEDs) said that worst economic outlook for a 100 years. markets ignore.

This is why, for years, on a personal level and online I've been so critical of past and present Canadian governments.

When it was clear that Canada desperately needed to diversify its trading partners and the economy in general no one did sh*t. Especially the PC party, they were particularly beholden to the US.

We literally have no Canadian brands of any significant global reach, value and note.

No Canadian auto company of note we just manufacture some American and Japanese cars.

No Canadian healthcare manufacturer of note we just manufacture for some American brands.

No Canadian tech manufacturers of note I don't even think we manufacture anything here in Canada it's all imported at least the US has Apple and Microsoft.

Now we're looking to extradite Meng Wanzhou to the US, despite our own extradition laws saying we shouldn't after Trump's speech on using her as a bargaining chip and serious concerns for her safety in that hell hole, but it seems like we're doing it anyway because we never diversified our economy and it's going to create problems in the future when attempting to increase trade ties with China.

We're ok, as far as I can tell, because of our more conservative lending practices and rules regarding bankruptcies but considering something like 70% of our exports go to the US if their economy is screwed so will ours be.

Soon USA will be classified as a 3rd world country!

Time for Canada to begin the slow process of quarantining the United Shithole Dollar and United Shithole "goods"

Very true. A country with massive landmass and small population could easily turn into a raw material export powerhouse. But the government want to be a US poodle and pissed off China. I'm afraid you guys are in for a rough ride.
