I asked her why not Muslims? She responded that Muslims, even those currently being persecuted in Pakistan and Bangladesh such as Shia and Ahmdiyas, were at the forefront of the two nation claim. They got their Pakistan which then included Bangladesh. If they are being persecuted in a land or nation which they so desperately fought for, how can that be India's problem? The other minorities however such as Hindus, Sikhs, Christians etc were apparently victims of partition and ought to be given a chance if they get persecuted in Muslim majority states.
