Gujarat Polls: Modi Releases BJP Manifesto



Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today released BJP manifesto for the state for the upcoming assembly elections.

The manifesto talks about housing projects, women empowerment and urban and rural development.

Here are the highlights of the manifesto:

• 50 lakh pucca houses in the next five years.
• Rs 4,125 Cr plan to provide irrigation facilities to tribal farmers.
• Power generation to be doubled, clean water to be provided to every household.
• Jobs for 30 lakh women, homes for underprivileged women, super specialty hospitals, agro infrastructure.
• Land under irrigation will be increased by 16 lakh hectares.
• Modi said that he will make Gujarat the textile capital of the country.

"I have confidence that this vision will inspire development in all sectors in Gujarat," he added.

● Hike in allotments in Van bandhu and Sagarkhedu schemes.
● Hike in labour wages.
● Port cargo to be increased by three times.
● An authority to be set up for property title clearing.
● Seva adhikar law to be introduced. Government employees have to complete their task in prescribed timing. Similar law is in implementation in Madhya Pradesh.
● Development of 12 Special Investment Regions.
