Khan sahab that train also marks inauguration of a new railway line.

PM Modi has promised big economic development of north east and projects like these are a part of bigger picture. For years NE states have been ignored and its about time that these states also become a part of growth story.
So while PM being there might be a symbolic gesture, the point is, the current government is trying to send across a message that development of NE states is high on the agenda.

Secondly,Tourism is not our bread and butter,you ignoramus.Trade,agriculture and forest products are,as they always have been.In fact tourism if anything is restricted even by GOI because any outsider requires a RAP (restricted Area permit) to visit and the INdian government being paranoid as it is doesn't hand them out easily.In fact relatives of americans who fought in WW2 are still struggling to find and bring back home the remains of their relatives.
