Then how come with 3000 extra deaths per day entire country is in panic mode, short of woods, graves, creamatoriums running at full capacity, out of capacity etc etc.

There is a huge difference between deaths due to natural causes and avoidable deaths in contagious pandemic.

Not the entire country, All the news of hospital running out of capacity is coming out of Delhi and surrounding areas.

Question is, are only 3000 more people dying daily? Or is it more than that? If so, how much more? 5 times? 10 times? 20 times?

Not even two times even if unregistered deaths are taken into account.

Forget rest of India, the corona hit Delhi is fully functional and there is no emergency declared or neither total shut down of the city as we saw in Wuhan China.

Actually his argument has some validity.

India is registering 400,000 positive tests daily now and that is out of 1.2 million tests carried out.

The positive to test ratio is an unheard of 1/3rd now.

Remember a lot of those dying even outside hospitals have not been tested and so not counted in official results. Others are being registered as dying from other causes if they have co-morbidities.

Whatever the actual number, it is way higher than the 3,000 a day officially reported. 5-10 times would not be an exaggeration.

India can still function as the total number of deaths from Covid-19 is probably less than the 30,000 or so that die each day.
