On its promise that it made before LS election in Bengal, the CBI has failed so far. The government in center has not only done anything, in all fairness what it has done in Bengal is in fact worse. It has made sure that TMC will rule this state for at least another two terms by appeasing Bennerjee and placing impotent like Rahul Sinha on the top who has no idea about ground realities, neither the intricacies of electoral processes. Saradha is a setback not only to TMC, but to BJP's quest against corruption also. You are free to disbelieve it, but come to Bengal and feel the pulse.

—> Trade Balance becomes negative—> the Financial Account must become positive to balance

—> foreign investors must exchange their money to INR so they can invest in Indian companies/stocks—> demand for Rupees increases—> Rupees appreciates

Other than this I also know that the best way to judge a currency's worth is to watch it in relation to other currencies over time and its purchasing power. But that's all I know, ergo I decided to post this thread here to discuss the issue.

currency depreciation or appreciation both has its uses it does not signify economic growth in anyway.

@Star Wars after the initial rapid progress the investigation on the scams (Sarda, Rose Valley and many others) has come to a grinding halt for the reason mentioned above.

On topic: This government is doing much better than the previous one, in fact the previous one wasn't doing much..but much more needs to be done. They need to focus on development and cut all other crap.

It is still too early to judge the Modi govt. There is no magic wand that can solve all the issues at once. Give him some time, a full term ideally and then judge him.

@levina weak rupee helps in 'make in India', it will be kept weak as long as possible. Capital account deficits will be controlled by cutting down the imports of non-necessary goods, it is already happening.

I'm not anti-Modi but I find this claim flawed because rupee's value hasn't improved yet. The government hasn't achieved any tangible results socially and economically, or may be its too soon to judge this government.

But I have noticed some of Modi's policies are nothing but rehashed congress policies. For example the tracking of saraswati river, PMJJBY,PMSBY and APY.
And how different is Modi when compared to MMS? MMS was silent on corruption issues, and Modi is silent on religious intolerance issues. He has not been able to control his ministers, despite giving the raucous ministers a few warnings, they continue uttering mendacious nonsense.
But yes, Modi has been able to bring India into the limelight again(i'm glad!!!), or was it ISRO achievements which boosted BJP government's image?

Yes, but in that process Mamata got the necessary oxygen, BJP was kept weak in Bengal intentionally, and TMC is very likely to come again in 2016...and Bengal will be screwed further. I am not happy about it at all.

As for religious intolerance and MMS comparison, i am not even going to reply to that considering you actually believe there is religious intolerance..

Saraswati river project was started by Vajpyee and later stopped by the congress when they came in power. As for policies, its important to implement policies as well and not just introduce them. I will look into these policies and see how much of a difference there is as compared to congress..

The first term of MMS was in fact good and can be equaled (excelled in certain fields by Modi). Modi has great plans and I strongly hope those getting matured and start delivering results in future just to overshadow the opposition roar over petty (no disrespect to any community here, and sometimes I feel they are framed) issues will come and haunt the unicorn.

The success of this govt lies at its core agenda, development, else its will be as bad as....
