LAHORE: A forensic science agency – responsible for collecting evidence for investigation into the Model Town clashes – said relevant evidence was no longer available, Express News reported on Wednesday.

On June 17, activists of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and policemen had fought pitched battles in the streets which left at least 14 party workers dead and dozens of others injured.

In a report submitted to a judicial commission, the forensic agency said material evidence such as bullet holes and shattered glass was removed from the clash site in post-riot clean-up. The agency also told the commission that it has no further role to play in the investigation.

On July 8, some members of the agency had visited the site of the bloodshed along with the joint investigation team (JIT), which was set up by the judicial commission.

The clashes had erupted in the early hours of June 17 and continued for up to 14 hours. The confrontation had begun when a 15-member police team tried to remove the barriers in front of PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri’s house and the Minhaj International Secretariat.

Telephone records

The judicial commission has directed the JIT to provide details of telephone and other communication records of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, former Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, Punjab chief minister’s former principal secretary Dr Tauqir Shah, the home secretary, commissioner, CCPO Lahore, DCO Lahore, DIG Lahore and 10 SPs who were involved in the operation.

The deadline given for this is July 14, which is the date of the next hearing.

Probably you should at least read the news before jumping up and down with excitement.

Similar happened with the benazir murder case where Scotland yard wasn't able to collect the forensic evidences because of cleaning up of murder site. Had Police cordoned off and blocked the area, there would have been further eruption in clashes.
So some technical sense does help, but I afraid many of people here don't have any....

bullet holes were removed or bullets were removed?

. . .
Evidence no longer available?

Who is responsible for securing the site of incident? The govt of Punjab or people of Tahir ul Qadri?

As you have seen that day, the Punjab police was led by Gullu Butt. The police was securing Gullu Butt instead of public property. So expecting Gullu Butt police to secure the site is out of question.

This one man show judicial commission was a farce. It always was. That is why expect the follower of Gullu Butt league, no one expected anything from it.

One thing is sure. Punjab police and its administrative head, the chief minister of Punjab is responsible for June 17 incident. The day is not far when Showbaz will meet his fate.

No thug will be allowed to challenge the writ of state we are not starting an operation against TTP just so we could allow TTP lite in shape of Qadri.

The only way to power in Pakistan goes through the ballot box - If Qadri thinks he will create enough nuisance value that govt will forced to accept his loony demands he has another thing coming.

And who was responsible to secure the area, and who removed those evidences? If Musharraf can be accused in Benazir Murder case for removing evidences from crime scene then same can be done for Showbaz Sharif.

The clash in model town erupted at June 17th, and investigation team visited the site at July 8th. How on earth the evidences would be there after 21 days? Probably you should at least read the news before jumping up and down with excitement.
