MMRCA, FAk-Fa and Delays in production might kill Tejas

May be the delay in LCA is the reason why Saab has been advertising Gripen to India even after they got eliminated from MMRCA. They know that Gripen's odds of getting back into MMRCA are close to nil. They perhaps expect the IAF top brass to lose patience and look for alternatives as a stop-gap or on a permanent basis and what better choice than the Gripen.

You need to be realistic man HAL is a company and it is business they have profitable projects coming like MRCA, upgrades of Mirage and SU-30MKI is already under process and so called mother of all deals FGFA why would they waste time on Tojes?

Just look at the production speed of HAL 1 aircraft LSP-7 took 8 months but still not ready for first flight :D
When they will be able to achieve FOC and when they will deliver first squadron. LCA-MK2 is already hit by 1 year delay. :eek:

Tojes purchase price is 30-40Million$ why not increase the number of MRCA aircrafts? The future is highly uncertain and for HAL the ideal time to announce its cancellation is 2012/13.

ON OTHER HAND....we had enough su-30.......

ALLTHOUGH......we r not in mode of hurry to get aircraft soon............hal delayed tejas bcoz it has to do many other works like Amca,lch and many other UPGRADES............TEJAS is 4.5 gen fighter................or in next 2-3 years neither china nor pakistan is going to operate 5+ fighter.........so delay of 2-3 years does't effect Standards of TEJAS that much.................

one more thing.......I Think Cancelation of Tejas project never gonna happen................

some Pdf members think that tejas gonna cancal soonnnnn......i only want to say that......EVEN IN THERE DREAMS, TEJAS NEVER GONNA CANCEL.....

To be honest, Tajas have already consumed enough time and money. delaying it more doesn't make any sense rather then cancelling it.

We have close to 3 squadrons of JFT with Block 2 expected next year ... What failure are you talking about ? :azn:

Tejas won't be canceled since the program is way too advanced but I am seeing that we will have to privatize HAL or ADA soon. Otherwise most of our aerospace dreams will run into deep waters. We got the talent and the money but not the political will or intention.

Personally I don't care if it takes a long time to make the Tejas. I'd rather have an indigenous aircraft that is inferior has delays and is somewhat inferior to other aircraft. The important thing should be making it indigenous. Now, the most important component of the aircraft, the engine, is no longer domestically designed. Neither is the radar.

I am failed to understand your POV if IAF is not in hurry so HAL is also not in hurry as you can see they took 8 months to produce LSP-7 their production rate in 2011 is 1.5. :lol:

I don't know how LCA project is advanced Tejos completed only 1800 Flights in last 10 years, Current production rate i think you know better 1.5 aircraft per year and IAF is not satisfied with its performance well many aerospace projects got cancelled in past and Tojes is on its way.

Oh please! Whenever LCA made a baby step ahead we celebrate the scientists, but when there are delays in the development or even complete failures, we blame politics. The fact is, the scientists don't get the problems done as it seems, no matter what DRDO and ADA are claiming about the weather, so how do you relate that to politics now?
I'm not saying that they didn't made bad decisions, but it has nothing to do with privatisation, or politics, because the same scientists in privat companies wouldn't had get the things done either.

Specifically , what aspect of the aircraft is the IAF dissatisfied with ?
And why really is IOC-2 needed ( when Tejas already had IOC 1 ) ?
Why is the production rate for Tejas so slow that only 1 aircraft is rolled after 8 months ? Dont they have enough production facilities ?

Bhai pahle block- 1 ke liye badhiya radar & avionics ka jugad kar lo.
Current JFT radar is very close to the APG 68 ( The one used in F16 Block 52 ) what more do we want ? Block 2 is coming with AESA ...
