First a personal experience, I felt quite at home in Turkey and I was welcomed in all places. However, many of my friends describe their experience less than pleasant at Jeddah airport (KSA) and especially considering the fact they went for Umrah from Pakistan. Though my personal experience in KSA has been different perhaps because I was carrying a US passport and/or on a business trip.
However the author has terribly failed to describe the details of what she considered disrespectful...and from her writing (actually from each scribbled word) I can smell the stench of Arab superiority complex which despite holy Prophet (ﷺ)'s denunciation is stronger than ever. May be they were not following the rules and acting weird with all that Arab superiority complex.
I would advice her to dine at quality restaurants if she decides to visit Turkey again. If you select the cheap restaurants mostly probably you will get the cheaper services too. If she really wants to document it...we can fix a date
