Missing Texas man was eaten by his own 18 pet dogs

DALLAS: A Texas man who had been missing for months was eaten, bones and all, by his pack of dogs, sheriff's deputies said. Medical examiners said Tuesday that DNA testing determined that pieces of bone recovered from the dogs' feces were those of 57-year-old Freddie Mack, according to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office. Deputy Aaron Pitts said the 18 mixed-breed dogs apparently devoured all of Mack's body, his clothing and his hair, leaving nothing larger than 2-to 5-inch bone fragments. "Never have we ever, or anyone we've spoken to, heard of an entire human being consumed,'' Pitts told The Associated Press. "The bones were completely broken up and eaten." Mack had serious health problems, and it's unclear whether the dogs killed their owner or consumed his body after he died from a medical condition. "Either way, it is a very gruesome event and we extend our sympathy to Freddie Mack's family," Sheriff Adam King said in a statement. In May, a relative reported the reclusive Mack missing from his home near Venus, a community of fewer than 4,000 people about 30 miles (50 kilometers) southwest of Dallas, saying the family hadn't heard from him since mid-April.

The aggressive dogs stopped the family from entering Mack's property, and posed problems for deputies, who were eventually able to look around while keeping the dogs away with a ``distraction method,'' according to the sheriff's office. The deputies couldn't locate Mack and, after days of searching, investigators returned to comb the property. Amid the high grass, they found animal feces containing bits of human hair, clothing and bone. The larger fragments were sent to the University of North Texas Center for Human Remains Identification, and were eventually matched to Mack through family DNA testing. Pitts said two of the dogs were killed by their mates, 13 were put down because of their ``aggressive nature'' and three have been put up for adoption. The deputy said that Mack kept his dogs well fed and cared for. The only other time the deputies had dealt with him was in 2017, when Mack called from the hospital to ask if someone could check on his dogs, Pitts said. "This man loved his animals,'' he said.

Islam does not prevent you from keeping dog, it only prevents you from keeping it inside the house. What reasoning will you give if your bull crushes you to death or your Camel grabs you from your head and breaks your neck, these accidents do happen.

Even cats will eat you if you are in a weak condition, alone and couldn't feed them enough food. It's just predatory nature in Animals which will never pass and hunger makes them do it.

In India, the so-called Animals Rights Activists, are nothing but crazy dog lovers. These bunch of crazy people are responsible for huge increase in the number of stray dogs, the consequent number of dog attacks on people as well as the near extinction status of cats in Indian cities and towns who are cruelly killed by dogs.

Whenever someone sensible in the government decides to tackle the dog menace in a certain area by sending in dog catchers, the dog lovers there quarrel with the dog catchers.

But the Kerala state in southern India some years ago passed a progressive law in the state parliament. This bill allows people of a locality to handle any dog menace in their locality by whatever means possible and the police cannot register complaints from "animals rights activists" against the locality's residents.

yes we know that but we are talking about another of God's creation which is created specifically for human protection. I am a cat person and very recently lost my Cat which was like my 2nd daughter, 8 nights ago she went out and has not come back and I an so heart broken.

If the dogs killed stray cats good news the cats went off from street a lot of other small animals are saved. I don't want dogs to rule the streets, they should be euthanized. But I'm glad they took out the cats.

haha yeah, it's usually implemented in housing colonies. If you kill a dog and any "animal" lover reports it, you are in trouble even in Kerala. Many towns have the issue of stray dogs. There are stray animals on street because a lot of waste is thrown in the open by us. Proper waste management will automatically reduce the population of stray domestic animals.

The only difference is Dogs might have killed the owner and then eaten him, cat might have eaten the woman because she died and cats were hungry because no one fed them. It is a difference between a guy who dig graves to eat dead bodies and those who ate their dead friends after air plane crash.

I have witnessed a lot of horrible incidents... My father has a lot of dogs on his farm land.. So I could get any dog from Alsatians to Rottweilers from him for free but I'm not comfortable with them.
