Missing Defence Personnel
The number of defence personnel gone missing during the last three years and the current year is as under:-
Year - 2013 - 2014 - 2015 - 2016(till date)
Army- 03@ - 02# - 02* - 05
Navy- _____ - 05**____-01**
Air Force ___________-16^
@Including 01 person presumed dead and excluding 01 dead body of missing personnel recovered.
#Excluding 01 dead body of missing personnel recovered.
*Excluding 03 dead bodies of missing personnel recovered.
**All 06 individuals presumed dead.
^Mishap of AN-32 aircraft over Bay of Bengal on 22nd July, 2016.
Action with respect to missing defence personnel is taken as per extant guidelines on the subject.
