55 years ago, first batch of Dassault Mirage IIIEP comprising of 06 airframes arrived at Maripour AFB (now Masroor) from Broudeaux. France.

This formation was lead by Wg. Cdr. M.M. Alam.

Upon arrival M.M. Alam decided to make a Fly-Past over Karachi city.

08 March marks a very special day in PAF history as on this day 55 years ago, the first batch of French built Dassault Mirage aircraft was inducted into Pakistan Air Force. Over the years, PAF Mirages have indigenously undergone many modifications propelling the capability of Mirage fleet and bringing it at par with modern contemporary fighters of the world.

The Mirage aircraft of PAF have been assigned various specialized roles including delivery of stand off precision guided munitions further adding to the existing lethality of the fleet. During Operation Swift Retort in 2019, Mirage aircraft successfully delivered the lethal punch against the adversary with great precision.

PAF Mirages have been the backbone of Pakistan Air Force ever since their induction and are still proving equal to the task. Mirages also proved their mettle in 1971 Indo-Pak war, Kargil Operations and the recent counter insurgency air campaign.
