it should not be destroyed unless alternative houses are not provided to poor people living there.many maids,labourers and other servants which work in Big houses of rich in Islamabad are living in mehrabadi.it is responsibility of govt to provide housing to poor public.these poors cannot afford to live in Islamabad due to high rental and land cost

law is nothing when it is against fundamental human rights.there should be a coolony of poor servants in Islamabad be it mehrabadi or any other name because they serve rich at lowest wages as compared to west countries.when state fails to provide shelter and remove poverty then such places come in to existence

Nope law is law they knew this was illegal they shouldve thought about it before they went on a construction spree buying land on stamp paper at 1 lakh and building a house on it worth 40 lakh
Therw were way too many commercial building in Mehrbadi too which were built cheaply but were charging Islamabad rates for products and services
Destroying them will help legally complying businesses in adjoining sectors

In Islamabad there is clear prohibition on construction of commercial ventures in residential areas what makes them so special that their building be spared while in all legal sectors people are getting fined like crazy for doing that?
I as an Islamabadi voter and resident support the procedure and operation zero tolerance to land grabbers

the valuation procedure of property is not correct.it is not made by actuary or qualified valuer but by illiterate property dealers that is why rent of property in Islamabad is much less than a property of similar value in u.k or u.s which shows property is overvalued in Islamabad than its original worth.those who are using property for commercial uses in merabadi should be asked to leave but there are also many poor servants living there .i think there should be a separate sector near Islamabad for these servants and govt should make efforts for this and this land should be banned for use for commercial and realestate purpose and the value of land should be kept low

The unfortunate reality of Pakistan is that a person has to be of Punjabi descent to be acceptable to the traditional voters of Punjab (who form the bulk of the electorate). Imran Khan is borderline acceptable himself since he was born and raised in Lahore and his hometown is Mianwali which is part of Punjab - even then it took decades of trying to make him acceptable to the wider population. If I recall correctly the only non-Punjabi the Punjabi voter has voted for in great numbers has been ZAB and his daughter.


You think a guy like Shehryar Afridi can be the face of PTI that gets them to win a majority from Punjab? I doubt it. Someone like a Jahangir Tareen has greater chance of being a good choice for PTI, but he isn't much younger than IK himself.

Most of the land in Mehrabadi was occupied by land grabbing mafias they were evicted they now use some homes as a shield to justify their illegal ventures

And they can live elsewhere in Ali Pur or adjoining villages Mehrabadi is sector G-12 in mutilated form occupued by land grabbers and sold to private parties through stamp paper
