Instead of portraying India as some kind of developed democracy and federal state, Indians need to concentrate on making toilets and teaching people how to use them and also improving nutrition of the poor. Sadly a country like Bangladesh which is much poorer with much less per capita GDP does better in both of those areas.
If India were truly a developed democracy and federal state like some idiot Indians are trying to claim, then they should follow the Scottish model and hold referendums for NE states and for Kashmir, so people can decide on their fate, whether they want to depart the Indian union or stay with it.

As long as India remains a third world caste racism infested hell hole and maintains hundreds of thousands of paramilitary and other security forces in regions like NE states and Kashmir, hold up draconian laws like AFSPA, India has no right to declare that it practices democracy in these minority dominated areas like NE states and Kashmir, which are under de facto colonial occupation by a hostile "mainland India".
