been saying this for many days, but some people refuse to even listen and even get angry as if criticizing the army is blasphemy.

Army maintains an infantry division in DI khan, south waziristan, north waziristan and FC is present in Zhob in numbers. Apart from that army patrols these areas regularly, and these criminals come in and after 10 hours go back unchecked.

Blaming govt is easy as they are civilians.

lets push the Corps Commander for inquiry and publish the report, whoever is at fault should be punished.
BTW Khatak saab should also deal with Police personnel who left their posts vacant and opened gates for the terrorists,

Very easy to say that, but in practical it becomes difficult. Reason being once such an attack starts, there are good chances the militants would have blocked the roads leading to the prison or may even have prepared for an ambush if any help arrives. That is the major thing/factor which leads to increasing the reaction time by any security forces, be it army, FC or police, as an ambush at night in such small streets / urban areas may lead to massive casualties.

Question to be asked is, where did the 70-80 elite police force guys and other extra police force went at the time of the attack.

Still, a thorough investigation needs to be done and i know its not possible but culprits need to be identified who failed in their duties and stringent measures need to be placed for any such future eventuality.

Sir please read it again. There was a security plan to counter this attack and there were about 3 checkposts established to counter this attack, but not even a single bullet was fired from these check posts.. Also if there was a security plan, then why the reinforcement arrived 4 hours late? You are perhaps trying too much to pinch entire blame on KPK Govt alone, deliberately ignoring other factors..

Security of Civilian installations is not Army's job .. you need to understand that .. they have to do it only shows incompetence of provincial & federal government ... that is all i am trying to say .. if you can understand .

Zhob is 3 hours away(at the minimum if you travel fast n furious style in an 4x4 alone not a convoy) from DI and at night in tht road probably 5-6 hours... also FC is streched from Baluchistan-Waziristan border to as far as bolan and to the afghan border... not to forget other wings posts in chamalang or loralai.

Blaming govt is easy as they are civilians.

Lol.. sure first doesnt the KPK govt want to negotiate with them? they dnt even own the war? also i guess we should suspend the whole police force and maybe ask the military to take over their job or law and enforcement.... sounds about right ??

First they said that noone told them about the jail break. Agency printed out letters to all department and sent it to media against better judgment never to expose security links within the militants. Now they said they called the army to do their jobs and no one came. You want them to publish another report showing that calling in middle of the attack or after the attack does not really help. If you can not protect an installation you give prior notice that it is not possible for the civilian government to oversee security well "ahead of time".

Do not be a blind follower to your party politics. Take the blame like men and move along to solving the problem. Which is to leave security of these installations to the army. You can revisit this particular problem once other easier problems like security at markets, electricity, floods etc etc are taken care of. its been 55 days already, only 25 days left for eliminating corruption.

The first intelligence intercept was sent to Police on July 27 (Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Deputy Inspector General, District Police Officers of DI. Khan and Tank, and Superintendent Central Jail DI.Khan). They should have taken counter-measures and presented immediate tactical plan after learning from Bannu Jail. The second report was sent to Peshawar on July 28 (Home Secretary, Provincial Police Officer, Additional Chief Secretary, IG Prisons, IG FC, Commandant Chitral Scouts, Commandant Frontier Constabulary). All the receipts report to government, not military.

Army responded swiftly, but they acted as QRF.

The problem was with communication and co-operation, in my opinion.

Imran urges introspection over D.I. Khan jailbreak​

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan raised serious questions on Sunday over last week’s jailbreak in Dera Ismail Khan and called for introspection by all institutions of the state.

He said it was high time to determine why in the presence of an army division in and around D.I. Khan, elite force, police and special jail police, the attackers had managed to get hundreds of their accomplices freed.

“Because of the timely intelligence reports, all necessary preparations were made to thwart the attack. There were three security cordons set up around the jail. Machine gunners were also posted at strategic positions, but no body put up a fight,” Mr Khan said while talking to reporters at his party’s central secretariat.

“If nobody on ground is willing to fight then what can the provincial government do in such circumstances,” he said.

Over the past couple of months, Mr Khan has repeatedly demanded a meeting with the army chief and the prime minister before an all-parties conference proposed by the government for coping with terrorism.

Mr Khan said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had initiated a high-level inquiry into the incident and its findings would be shared with the nation.

He reiterated that this was a national issue which needed a corresponding response.

Nobody from the ISPR was available for comments.

Mr Khan said he had told US Secretary of State John Kerry during their recent meeting that since the US drones strikes had killed about 1,500 innocent people so far, whereas only 45 terrorists had been targeted. The strikes were directly affecting efforts of the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to curb militancy.

He reiterated that the federal government and the military establishment had to come clean on ‘hidden facts’ before calling an APC.

Last week, over 100 militants whom the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed to have sent freed 248 prisoners from the D.I. Khan jail. According to media reports the attack lasted three to four hours.

PRICE HIKE: Mr Khan severely criticised the government for steps which have triggered a record price hike.

He said the PML-N, instead of giving any new direction to the government as had been expected from it, had taken the easy route of taxing the already taxed middle and salaried classes instead of improving governance.

This, he said, was just the beginning of the results of the increase in general sales tax and other indirect taxation which the government had imposed in the budget. Soon a new wave of backbreaking inflation will be hitting people as a result of increase in the electricity tariff.

PTI leader Asad Umar, who advises Mr Khan on economic issues, said the government planned to increase the electricity tariff by 30 to 65 per cent for domestic consumers and 25 to 95pc for industries which would have a serious impact on the prices of commodities of everyday use. As a result of the increase in electricity tariff, people would have to bear an additional burden of Rs144 billion, he said.

WHITE PAPER: Mr Khan said the PTI would release on Aug 16 a white paper on rigging in the general elections. The party possesses evidence to show how returning officers rigged the May 11 elections.

He said the PTI had already approached the courts and after issuing the white paper would once again pray to them to order a biometric-based counting of votes in four constituencies.

“If found wrong in my argument for investigation, I will be the first one to offer a public apology for highlighting the issue,” he said.

LIBEL: The PTI chairman said he would file a libel lawsuit against JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for accusing him in a TV talk show of acting on ‘Zionist agenda’.

Nothing special about that post. why do people deny that there is significant army presence in DI. Khan itself?

Army patrols these areas and cordons off these areas during VIP movements. It took 8-10 hours for the execution of this operation and the criminal convoy (which was fully armed) went back to either North Wazir, south Wazir or even Zhob.

All escape routes had security presence.

8-10 hours and no one even intercepted them?

How can one even expect the police to deal with people like Adnan Rasheed who himself was a former airman in the PAF?

highly unfair.

Some people do not even want to explore the mistakes of the army commanders.
