I appreciate your post brother, however, these graphical/pragmatic analysis are old, forexample, USA approved military budget worth $680 Billion this year.

Furthermore, the figures mentioned here are merely official figures, which in most of the cases are unrealistic, forexample u,ve mentioned china spending around 50+ Billion dollars a year, whereas, unofficial sources strongly claim that china's previous year spendings on military budget were well over 125 Billion, second only to the USA and catching up fast.

same is said about russia, pakistan and a few other countries...

Whatever its authentication but its clear that India's military expenditure has surpassed Israel's.....

One can assume an idea from this graph......

Very Informative Share Faisal !!!

US military budget also includes a lot of military assistance to foreign countries like Pakistan and Israel.

But the numbers do seem a bit unrealistic in many places.

It would be much more informative you someone could give what % of GDP is spend on defence by the above countries, it will give a different perspective.

No matter how you dress this up or Down the fact that india can spend 8 times on its military annually what pakistan spends,, and STILL be spending less of its GDP as a % PERCENTAGE is a very eye catching Fact. ie 2.5% versis 3% for Pakistan.

When people insist that Pakistan must answer India agressive build up of modern weapons like su30 MKI fighters and phalcon Awacs and in near future MMRCA/ FGFA 5th gen fighters and nuke submarines we can now see the huge dilemma facing pakistan.

In short how do you even come close to curtailing india,s ever growing military and economic gap.

I BELIEVE BY 2020 Both indian military budget and GDP will be top 5 in the world rather than top 12 and well over $60 billion per year ie where France and UK sit today.

India has officially been the second fastest growing major (top30) economy for nearly a decade now year in year out (behind china)

hold man i question figures u gave
i came to know dat military spending of the trio, US china and pak are more than 5%

China's numbers are impossible to get. The defense spending is estimated somewhere between 70 to 140 billion. Compare that to GDP of 3.5 trillion$

Pakistan is currently unable to increase its defense spending. It is stuck at 4-4.5 b$ for some time.

US's defense spending has gone down big time this year. Some where around 600b$. That is the number used is only the primary number with a GDP of $14 trillion. US spends more than this by adding more defense spending bills for Iraq and Afghanistan.

US is planning to reduce its increasing budget deficit, so hence under 5%. China's economy is growing way faster so it has gone down well enough. Pakistan currently is unable to afford more defense spending.

Zardari efforts has paid - US gave $2.3b in civilian aid, so this should allow them to increase money given to PA by allocating more from budget. He also got 300 m euros from Europeans. If he gets his way, he also get more military aid from Canada as well.

List of countries by military expenditures - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Four countries that are more of interest to PDF members in order of percentage of GDP

US 4.06 % of GDP
China 2-4% of GDP (70 b$-140b$ : defense spending)
Pakistan 3 % of GDP
India 2.5 % of GDP

will try to post the rest!
