Mig-27 crashes in West Bengal

Mig's are junk in Indian air force Flying Coffin .Indian Air force is made up of all this flying junk....lol

I don't think so. Don't forget that these MiGs are quite old. If the MiG-21s are "flying junk" like you claim, then why did the USAF praise the MiG-21 for it's performance in Red Flag?

.
The F-7 is a Chinese copy of the "flying coffin".

and Chinese copy is much better than the Russian Original..
wana compare crash ratios of both?
Tempted?

The Mig-21 has a poor record in Indian service, the Russian airforce never had as many crashes as the Indians. Engines are one of the most important parts in an aircraft, the F-7 has a Chinese engine, probably a copy. And everyone knows the Chinese lag in engines even to the point of using Russian engines in the JF-17, so how is the F-7 better? If a crash isn't caused by pilot error, bird strike, poor wheather, or maintanance issues, than its likely something with the engine.

Around half of all IAF Mig-21 crashes were due to pilot error from inexperienced pilots, other factors can be maintanance issues, bird strikes, or a number of other things that have nothing to do with the aircraft.

2,400 F-7's built, 10,645 Mig-21's build that should also explain a lot, in other words the Mig-21 has logged much more flight time, more time spent flying the more chances you have of accidents.

In other words i agree with you that the lack of quality pilot training and spare parts of Indian airforce has given Mig a bad name.

I want a source for that, btw smart one, there has been over 339 class A crashes and 81 class B crashes for the F-16.

And F-15's as well as F-117's have broke apart in mid air so how's that for corrosion?

yea right, keep dreaming flame bait.

Fail

Bull! The F-18 has 2 Mig-21 kills while being killed by a Mig-25.

There has been a number of exercises between F-18's and Mig-29's where the Mig got the best of the F-18, everyone knows the Iraqis were at best a joke.

You opend the door when you said: "Originally Posted by ptldM3

I just pointed out there are differance of opinions on that subject. And that the F18 is a much better plane.

You point out that the F18 has had 339 crashs compared to Mig 29 but what you dont point out is that there has only been 1600 Migs produced since 1977 and there have been 4400 F18s produced since 1974.

The F18 rate of loss is about the same per 100,000 hours as Indias loss per 10,000 hours.

Lot of Information on the Mig 29 at this site.
Fighter Aicraft, MiG-29/2
The MiG-29 was designed as a "progressive" model replacement for the air-superiority ..... a peak accident rate for the MiG-29 of 24 losses per 100000 hours. ... status benefiting the statistics but pilot proficiency continued to drop, ...
Fighter Aicraft, MiG-29/2

since 1980, the average historical mishap rate for the F/A-18 and AV-8B is 4.39 mishaps per. 100000 flight hours

That means nothing, at one point in 1988 23 F-16's crashes, but last year only 3 crashed (all air forces). I beleive the IAF crashes 6-7 aircraft per 100,000 hr at least according to some Indian sources, while some sources say the US crash rate is only 3-4 per 100,000, perhaps much lower, and the US air force is one of the safest, so yes the IAF record is poor; however, much of the crashes have nothing to due with the aircraft it self.

The problem is a lack of IAF trainers, no other airforce that operates Mig's has had as many crashes as the Indians. Better training and better maintenance will do wonders. Outside of poor pilots training and poor maintenance, bird strikes are common, Russia has also blamed Indian made spares parts for a number of the crashes.

No man i not agree with you . I 100 percent tell the fault was with planes. For eg; mig 29 entered service in 1984 . In the 26 years of service out of 66 aircraft only 5 crashes.same goes to mirage only 5 crashes . You know this is enormous safety record.

Don't try to act innocent, you were trolling as usual.

And your point was to be a smart a$$ by bringing in the Mig-29. I was pointing out how far the Indian airforce has to go to reach the level of one of the safest air forces--the US but you butted in.

Too bad you only decided to point out the peak losses in Indian service. I have come accross a source that said the Indian airforce had around 2 Mig-29 crashes per 100,000 so your peak source means nothing.

Right now Russia aircraft are some of the safest and you can see that in the SU-30mki only 2 crashes in 12 years and one was pilot error. Russian aircraft have gotten very safe, so get over it!

What are you talking? India itself has admited that most of the crashes are due to new pilots crashing because of a lack of trainers.

Yes..Mig 21 crashes are due to the lack of an advanced trainer.

Mig 27 crashes are due to the engines in 90% of the time. I bet this one will be engine trouble again.

Time to stop flying the eastern aircrafts India.

MIG-21's are still the backbone of IAF,and its performance in 1971 war as well as recent red flag exercises was nothing less than spectacular,
But after nearly 40 years of service for any aircraft(even the F-22) i don't think replacing them with new parts or upgrading them is gonna help, its either build new ones(from the scratch) or replace them with others. i hope you"ll agree with me on this .

The Mig-27 is old, it has old engines, the SU-30 is new, it has new engines, and as so the Indian SU-30's have an exellent safety record, 12 years, 2 crashes, one from pilot error, and the other i'm unsure, and the India's MKI pilots get as much as 300 hours anually. That would put the SU-30 amogst the safest aircraft in the world.

So time to stop flying old eatern aircraft, or at least up-grade the engines.

Communication failiure as usal:D

I coming to say 100percent mig 27 crash due to engine fault says by iaf chief. Mig 27 pilots are well experienced and not as mig 21 as newbe's

Your comment only suits for mig.21

Another su'30mki crashed plane was brand new. That start weapon trail. May be assemble fault by hal

MRCA thing going on forever how long more this will take????
