The Asian adhesive tape market is experiencing a very dynamic development that we want to use, ”explains Dr. Norman Goldberg, CEO of tesa SE, which is a subsidiary of the Beiersdorf Group. "The fact that tesa is making an investment of around 55 million euros in times of Corona is a strong signal from shareholders for the future."


Tesa currently operates 14 production sites worldwide, including large plants in Germany (Hamburg, Offenburg), Italy, the USA and China. The new building is located in the port city of Haiphong in northern Vietnam, where the company will be located on around 70,000 square meters. Since 2005, tesa has been operating a large plant in the Chinese city of Suzhou in the Far East, which, despite the current expansion, will reach its limits in 2025 to meet growing demand. In Vietnam, tesa is also investing in sustainability: 65 percent of the production volume is to be made with solvent-free adhesives. For the factory planning, the company strives for certification according to the internationally recognized "LEED Gold Standard". Among other things, the use of solar energy and rainwater treatment are planned.
