Our Govt want foreign company to transfer more tech , not just simple assembling the product in VN.

Unfortunately viet can only do the simple assembling work. look at your spending on R&D, where is Vietnam? how can you guys know what the hell to do with those tech transfers?

Good to see Vietnam attracting so much FDI/assembly. It will help increase employment in Vietnam. Great going Vietnam. You are doing surprisingly well in attracting FDI/multinational manufacturing companies.

I'm surprised to see India despite its huge young population/workforce/market lagging so much behind Vietnam in attracting these companies moving out from China. I thought India will have been the obvious choice after China. India really needs to buckle up man.

Because of the ecosystem, the supply chain is concentrated in guangdong region.

Vietnam has this geographical advantage of being close to supply chain while India doesn't.

Poor low IQ Chinese, even US-Soviet also agree that VN and Cam Ranh base have a very important location. Maybe bcz there r lots of low IQ like u in China, thats why Microsoft fed up with Chinese , fire all of u and move to VN

We cna do many things that China cant such as No VN kids starve to death in trash bin like in China. So dont think we can not do what u cant.

hmmmmm........yh i do know that Vietnams close proximity to China is a main attractiob for multi nationals to relocate to Vietnam from China, since doing so they can profit from both the lower wages/cost in Vietnam and the proximity of supply chain next door to China. Vietnam indeed has a very good location to Chinas developed coastal/industrialised regions, which is a great advantage.
However, I was thinking India itself should be a China all by its own, due to its huge potential market/population/young work force. So all these should obviously have been a draw to these companies. I still dont get why they dont give India a shot, unlike Little Vietm(its close proximity to China not withstanding).
Guess it has more to do with lack of adequate infrastructure and restrictive FDI/investments policies or something

vietnamese can look at a picture and reverse engineer the product. Don't ever underestimate monkey power.

Its all abt Politics, India is already strong , so US dont want Indian to get stronger . VN is still weak and quite friendly to US, so US can help VN to boost the economy and dont have to worry abt strong VN may do some bad things to them.
