Cut the nonsense, my friend. Do you even know how much profit you got operating in China? Let talk in the hundred of billion, here. It is a fact that our two countries are so intertwine in economy that neither of us can afford a divorce. It will be devastating to the two of us and the world.

not saying this has to happen overnight.
but slowly but surely companies are going to be moving out of China

just like with Intel and now Microsoft and soon Apple.

That will be good for our local firm to grow if that happen. We will send you a "thank you" note. Like Japan and SK growing their firm on protectionist policy.

Chrysler gets antitrust ticket in Shanghai :)

The monopoly practices by Chrysler and the three dealers have violated legitimate rights and interests of consumers and other companies, the bureau said. The fines were given in line with China's Anti-Monopoly Law.

The fine to Chrysler equals 3 percent of its annual revenue for involved products, the bureau added.

Sources said Chrysler has made rectification in the sales, refunded dealers which have suffered losses from its mandatory pricing, and opened the distribution channel for its spare parts.

Chinese regulators have reinforced anti-monopoly enforcement on the luxury car market, where automobiles and spare parts can cost significantly more in China than in other countries.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Tuesday spoke out against the perception that China is targeting foreign firms with its recent campaign of antitrust probes.

Speaking at the New Leaders' Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Tianjin, Li told business people and entrepreneurs that only 10 percent of all such probes have examined the practices of foreign firms in China.

Kind of like how Intel put a 2 billion dollar fab in Dalian just 4 years ago. Damn, if that's "moving away"...

Our Govt want foreign company to transfer more tech , not just simple assembling the product in VN.

Even if you got the complete blueprints, your current industrial and educational level is unable to either understand or copy them.

well not like Intel is putting all it's eggs in one basket.

There are far too many phone manufacturers in China as there is。

And what sort of people would still buy feature phones these days?

After shifting production from China, Hungary and Mexico to Vietnam, Microsoft will not purchase new production lines for the factories in the countries. The transfer started in May and is expected to finish in February 2015.

This is a new step of Microsoft after acquiring Nokia. At the ground breaking ceremony of Nokia Bac Ninh factory, a leader of Nokia’s cell phone segment said that the facility would focus on feature phones to cash in on high consumer demand.

China is the cheapest place to manufacteror because not only do they have low wages but also technology for automation like other 1st world countries. Foxxconn has replaced for example most of chiense workers in china with robots. Their only weak point is high energy price but cheaper gas from russia instead of australia and qatar will change the situation.
Microsoft just makes this move because they are following the government just like they created the xbox just so there is no monoply on consoles yet they failed the xbox is now outsold by other japanese consoles, and this move will also fail. China will further ban their OS and stuff from its market.

envy the world most useless country you must be joking right:woot:

that's not the point.
China doesn't make Nokia or other foreign phones for Chinese consumption.
1% market share or no market share.
move them jobs out of China and lay off 100,000 low paid workers and see what happens.

I long to see the good people of South Asia make our stuff.

tahaha no shit. make a overprice junk in the U.S now that's funny
like I said them jobs don't need to come back to the U.S just long as they don't stay in hostile China :D

and just like your OP post it's cheaper to make in Vietnam now :D

hope more companies see the chance to move on.

Samsung, Nokia moved to and created new facilities in Vietnam, as hub for exporting globally.
Investment environment is main factor in their mind.
