Microsoft Continuum Will Make Windows 10 Smartphones A PC In Your Pocket : Tech : Yibada
Microsoft Continuum is a sure fire Android killer. With the ultra-powerful feature, any Windows 10 smartphone can transform from a pocket PC to a full-fledge computer.
Packed with Continuum, a smartphone can run apps -- such as Excell and Word -- on a second screen, while still being used for messages, calls, and other features. A keyboard and mouse can also be connected to the phone, Technobuffalo reported.
Continuum will take multi-tasking to the next level. On-the-go businessmen can work with their mobiles on the road then connect their phones to a screen, laptop, and keyboard upon arriving home.
To attach the smartphone to the second screen and peripherals , users need a special dock which costs an additional $99 -- not a bad price for convenience.
Continuum is packed in Microsoft's November release Lumia 950 and Acer's upcoming Liquid Jade Primo.
Lumia 950 will display a 5.2-inch AMOLED screen with 2,560x1,440-pixel resolution. It packs a six-core Snapdragon 808 processor alongside a 20-megapixel PureView camer and 5-megapixel front-facing camera, CNET reported.
Additional features include 4K video capture,3,000mAh removable battery, and 32GB internal storage with up to 200GB in microSD storage.
To connect with an array of gadgets, the device sports a USB Type-C connection, the latest USB standard that enhances gadgets' performance in data transfer and charging. The device contains a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor.
Acer's Liquid Jade Primo, on the other hand, will be a breakthrough pocket PC born from Microsoft's decades of software development expertise and Acer's unsurpassed strength in building electronic gadgets.
The phone comes with a 2.5 Gorilla Glass display and a sleek metal back design. Keeping up with the trend in camera phones, the Acer Liquid Jade Primo is packed with a 21-megapixel rear cam with dual LED flash and an 8-megapixel front cam.
The device includes 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, with a provision for a microSD card. It aso has a USB Type-C connection.
