Mi-35M can carry troops inside. Like inserting special forces into Hot areas or extracting a casualty from one while also providing Air Support.

Mi-35 has Utility and Assault roles combined like he said. Only the front section has assault cockpits added, otherwise it is basically an Mi-8 or Mi-17.

Mi-28 is a dedicated assault Heli comparable to the cobras and super cobras. Mi-28's are quite a bit smaller than Mi-35's.

The ideal assault Heli (like the Apaches) should carry Hellfires, stingers and TOW wire guided anti tank missiles or equivalents from Russia and China, Each has its use. The carrying capacity of the Mi-35 for these munitions will be higher than the Mi-28 but hellfires and stingers may be too expensive for simple COIN use. Unguided Rockets should suffice.

Both Mi-28 and Mi-35 carry the Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-23 Twin Barrel 23 mm autocannon or Chinese equivalent, as also fitted on the JF-17. Most Bangladeshi trainers and Mi-17 Helis also carry this autocannon.
