Again bunch of so called liberals, extremist and enthusiasts deciding what woman should wear?
I am saying that woman is a free human like man and indeed society is incomplete without peaceful existence of both man and woman with each other. All religions are there with an aim to define fine lines of morality that both man and woman must follow and should not abide rules introduced by God through prophets.
Why there are extremist options that today's civilization is trying to implement? Either she should be so free to wear shameful cloths or covers herself too much that even her eyes do not become visible, lol
Woman has brain like you all do, let her analyze all things that you offer, that religion offers, that extremism offers( either no cloths or complete burqa) , or sheikhs offer or priests offer or media offers and let her decide on her own that which ideology she is inspired of or is willing to follow.Remember, in case of disagreement only her immediate care takers have right to speak, not some politician or philosopher or whosoever that is outsider.

I partially agree. It is really difficult to know whether a woman behind the burqa is being oppressed or is doing it because she genuinely believes in it.

I mean, to put things in perspective, she's Muslim. Surely religious fervour is not the sole domain of the male?

It is important to note that in countries like India, Muslim women are increasingly vocal. Even militantly so, against what they see within as being anti woman.

We have seen a huge uproar about the right to worship, in the recent Haji Ali incident.

We have been seeing ongoing outrage about marriage, divorce and support.

But I cannot recall a single demonstration or protest against the burqa. In fact I don't know the technical term, but I am increasingly seeing (very) little girls also being covered up in various headgear.

I would like to take this to a more personal level.

Say you rent out a room in your great house to a boarder. Do you not have rules for the renter ? Are you within your rights to set limits on what the renter can do, such as partying into the late hours or bringing females in sight of your daughters ?

Like it or not, there is a dominant dominant ethos in your house and it is only natural that you expect strangers to conform to them.

Dear friend...I completely agree with you...But before i even admit the person, if i know that he has certain expected behaviour, then of course i will rent not my house to them.Burkha is part of the Muslim culture...Even honestly, i do not like it too...But my point is Europe knows about the beliefs system, cultural inclination and the way Muslims dress in the majority Muslim countries...So even after knowing their way of living, why do not you place rule in the beginning rather than in a time when they are already part of the system...Again, Muslims are just examples only...It can be any one...It can be any immigrant per se...
